I think you have a very good chance, seems to be working through submission dates.

Not going by my very straight forward application submitted in March.  The only further information requested was police checks which I imagined would just be checked in a flash and the grant approved. Congratulations to all the successes but I probably need to distance myself from the forum and from checking my Immi account as all the much later applications being approved is really worrying. 😂

    Hi All

We uploaded our police checks on request last week Wednesday and we just got the news that 309 has been granted 🎉

goodluck to you all waiting but ours was pretty quick. Applied April, medcheck the following week, recieved no comms until October 29th requesting police certificates and recieved approval this morning.

We are defacto, 2.5 years together, he is Italian and I am Australian.

    7months and approved!

    All the best!

    Congratulations Anda!

    Hi,

...so I decided to be on the cautious side and tried to apply for the eVisitor 651 today (while I wait for the 309/100 decision) as I'm planning to visit Oz next week for a month...

For some reason it would not let me proceed after I've entered all my details, instead came up with an error message..

"Australian citizens are not eligible to use this service. You are unable to make an application for an eVisitor."

...What?!? Is this error message showing because they have flagged in the system that I'm applying for a 309/100 somehow? I'm definitely not an Australian citizen (although it would be nice!).

Does anyone know what I should do next as I obviously been granted the 309/100 yet (still in "Further assessment" stage), but they won't let me apply for this eVisitor? Should I try another tourist visa i.e. ETA 601 instead? I'm anxious as my flight is coming Wednesday.

(I'm in British Citizen and had this previously had an eVisitor approved in the past years ago without issue)

    Thanks.

If it was me I'd phone the Helpline for advice as it's too risky to make the wrong decision!

Hey guys! I am also a long time lurker (too lazy to sign up lol) but had to share we just had or 309 and 100 granted this afternoon from UK! 4.5 months from lodgement!!

I am Aussie (sponsor) and partner is from Mauritius. Long story short is that we moved to UK together as our onshore partner visa was refused in 2015 due to schedule 3 requirements. Finally worked up the courage and money lol to apply again and lodged July 5th. Front loaded and included all our refusal paperwork etc as well. We had help from Partner Visa Academy (highly recommended) but was not expecting it so quickly until we saw all of the approvals on this thread this week!

Thanks for giving us hope and best of luck with all your applications. Hard to hang in there but its all worth it in the end. xxx

I should add we are not married and no kids and have been together 5 years ❤️

    Congratulations, that's so quick!

Hope I hit a good day as well then haha! What tests do they actually perform on the day? Is it just an all-round health check or are they looking for any particulars? I have been healthy all my life and never had any serious health problems, although I am a very light smoker (5 a day max) so I'm hoping that has no impact on the medicals or my visa!

It was just a basic health check, height, weight, stethoscope, discussion about health records, then being asked if there's any health-related concerns I needed to add.

As I'm a non-smoker I can't comment on whether they take this into account. I imagine there might be some smokers who have been awarded their visas that can answer.

Wow ... I also went to Knightsbridge the receptionist was lovely on the phone and in person ..... must have hit a good day.
The doctor was really nice tho and radiologist was sweet when I was looking at my chest x-ray (it's not everyday you see inside yourself)
Hopefully it's a quick and painless experience for you

There must be more than one as whoever I spoke to on the phone was very pleasant it was the one behind the desk who was so officious. The female doctor I had was lovely.

  7. Thanks for all the updates on your progress (or lack of it!).

Dondons1UK - It must add to the worry having an agent you're relying on to relay updates to you and not being able to access your own Immi acount.

Adelaidian - I get very worried when I hear about these mystery technical mistakes.  Were you ever given the details?  Here's hoping you get good news very soon.

Askem81 - Very pleased your situation was resolved quickly and your visa was granted after you queried it.  It's tempting to make enquiries and the request for further information email implies that you can.  Have many people done this?  I don't want to make things worse by appearing too pushy.  I really don't mind waiting a bit longer it's just the worry of not knowing if there's any problem.

ATE - We submitted the further information on 4th Nov so have now been waiting 16 days.

Has anyone had there saving etc checked for a partner visa and if I don’t have savings will this be an issue as we are moving in with the in-laws when we move and I will have a job already lined up for when we get approved.

We provided details of income in the form of P.60s.  We also provided a savings' account statement but this wasn't requested and was just one of the items of evidence to show we had joint finances.

  9. So confusing! I called the IMMI help line and the guy was as equally confused and told me to do both just in case. Ah! I just don’t want there to be hiccups to delay this thing even more. Let you know how I go anyway.

I certainly hope it wasn't necessary to apply to the email as I didn't! We just attached them to the sponsor's application and pressed the grey button! I'm still waiting. I think successful applicants can confirm you don't need to.
  10. Hey everyone!

My partner and I just submitted our visa yesterday! Applied with police checks and just booked medicals in too. Was such a stressful process but so glad it is all done now. Now it's a waiting game! Has anyone been waiting for an extensive period of time recently?  I'm hoping they are pushing the London Visas through quickly at the moment!

They seem to be averaging 5-8 months at the moment.

When we applied we we’re told to hold off with our police and medical as they only valid for 12 months and if the visa takes longer than this they are invalid and have to be done again. Glad we did as mine was refused after 5 weeks. So now in process of appeal due to them not getting any supporting evidence and back to square one. Bad enough being £6.5k down currently. Would have been more if I had done my medical and police check.

The automated medical request comes up when you first apply so unless you're forewarned a lot of people think they're safe to carry out the medicals straight away and the visa will easily be granted within the processing times.

The police checks are a smaller outlay but unless every week counts with your application I think it's best to wait until asked in case of encountering serious problems like you're experiencing. They only take a few weeks.

All a drop in the ocean of course compared to your massive issue. Really hope you have a reasonably successful outcome.

Basically I just wrote a cover letter explaining both, I reattached a birth certificate that was already on there and wrote a cover letter for that.

I fly in 16 days with two days in Hong Kong, hope it comes before I land or I’m going to have to spend a few quid going to NZ for a few days. Boo!

I imagine the birth certificate was the acceptable format and high resolution? I only say that because I wonder if they say they haven't received things when it's actually not displaying how they want it.

Could be worse going to New Zealand to activate it but I'm sure you'll have enough to do and will still be suffering from jetlag. You might be lucky!

Update on my application: nothing happening. Still awaiting further assessment. Very annoyed that it wasn’t solved the first time. They asked me for things I’d already added but were missing from the application.

Did anyone else add the 10 years residence thing, and countries visited in the application and they asked again at assessment?

Oh well, let’s hope it’s all soon.

I feel for those who went through this with the agents and were refused due to the problems attaching docs. I would be so damn angry if it were me and I would be holding the agent to account.

It's so frustrating you can't check your attachments. My travel info. was very long and took all day to compile! Did you just re-attach the same documents?

It's been 29 days since the further information (police checks) were requested and 12 days since they were uploaded. I hope that means they will now review my application 😉
