  1. I have filled out Form 1300 t one week before I was eligible and then when I was eligible. I have just copied it.
  2. congratulations In your test email there should be instruction to change the test date if available. You should try to find the test date which suits you. The dates may open at anytime, so you need to keep an eye on that.
  3. In short Refugee and other background applicants are facing more delay depending on CCPT
  4. I think its a random selection currently some applicants are getting test invite in 7 months and some are still waiting more than 18 months but you can further look into CCPT (Citizenship Case Prioritization Tool) it is 26 criteria through which they determine person's identity this is first main process. It includes whether a Person is Refugee, Change of Name, Citizen of some country, and some other criteria.
  5. According to the Ombudsman Report https://www.ombudsman.gov.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0032/78980/Citizenship-own-motion-investigation-report.pdf This is how immigration works/should work (1) When an application is received then Identity and integrity checks are performed (some internal checks and some are external checks). Case Officer will only invite you for the test if identity checks are finalized using 25 criterion (CCPT checks) (2) Once Case Officer asked for these checks then he moves to the other applications. So there is a possibility if these checks are still waiting for third party to verify them (in this case if its waiting for third party immigration can't do anything about it) or the checks are finalized but the case officer has not looked back at your case (referred to as *inactivity*) in the later case you can ask through global feedback that your application is facing unexpected delays and the application is not waiting for any third party checks and mentioned the judgement by Justice Bromberg (I think 6 months inactivity). (3) Once you are invited for the test then Case Officer will perform character and other checks to finalize your application Again these are third party checks and apply the same as above. FOI flags are really important its not a junk info. if you are able to read the flags. Please read the full Ombudsman Report to know about all the flag info. I know some of the flags meaning. Did you ask for ICSE Case notes? The ICSE notes will reveal notes like "all clear" "nil concerns" "decision ready" etc. Decision ready means third party has finalized the particular check
  6. It varies due to multiple factors. There are some who gets approved on the same day and there are some who gets approved after 3 or 4 months and there are some (most of them applied during April to September 2017) who are still waiting for approval. In my opinion it's better to call the Human Affairs department about any travel.
  7. congratulations ? ?. Can you please tell are you from HR / LR country? thanks
  8. I guess few weeks (less than a month) it will take them to reply
  9. https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/about/corporate/information/forms/online/foi Write your FOI wisely and insist on specific points. Ask for all the documents, records and communication in CCPT, and ICSE Case notes CCPT- (Citizenship Caseload Prioritisation Tool) is a tool used for prioritising citizenship cases (25 criteria) ICSE - general information including your communication with the department and internal communication records of different stages. It is good to have this as a proof that department did not do anything for you in a long time period After getting the FOI check is there anything pending. There will some flags. Green means all done Amber means, it has to be referred to a different area called identity business support where it has to be manually investigated before clearance The ICSE notes will reveal notes like "all clear" "nil concerns" "decision ready" etc. There are some applicants whose cases are pending because of the following flags CSP - (Community support program) is for refugees who get support overseas from Australian government Bio-metric - checks are related facial recognition and finger print data base Lodge a case with ombudsman After that, complain through online feedback complain system (this is the best way to communicate with the department) online feedback complain system Write down the evidence, and dates Write down that your application has suffered from unreasonable delay, and mention the notes from FOI information Mention that your case is not with IGIS Mention the judgement by Justice Bromberg Mention inactivity and that the delay is not due to 3rd party Good Luck
  10. This is what I heard. As the portfolio Immigration and Citizenship has no cabinet position and it is still located within Home Affairs portfolio led by Peter Dutton. Therefore, in other words Peter Dutton (Minister) is the boss and Coleman (Junior Minister) works under him as was previously Allan Tudge (only Citizenship minister) works under Peter Dutton. https://www.sbs.com.au/news/peter-dutton-to-retain-border-force-when-immigration-handed-to-new-minister The following is the extract from the above website Mr Coleman will not have a cabinet position and will still be located within the Home Affairs portfolio, led by Mr Dutton. SBS News has put a series of questions to the Home Affairs department but understands the immigration department will not be separated. Questions remain over whether Mr Coleman will take over the ministerial powers in the Migration Act, including the ability to cancel visas. More details are expected in coming days as the remainder of the Morrison ministry is sworn in at Government House.
  11. congratulations. I think paper based applications after October are processed faster than online applications.
  12. The following is from another forum hope the following information will help you "Hi All, I attended my ceremony today. It was a long journey and hard. I went through a lot to become an Australian citizen and I think the emotional stress that I went through would need some time to heal. I complained to Ombudsman, Applied for FOI, went to MPs and even after approval I had to raise the issue up to minister to get my ceremony date changed because I needed my passport urgently and had a load of documents to prove the urgency of my case. I gained a lot of information along the way. My only advice to all friends here: Fight strongly and politely. Know your rights and demand them. There are 250000 cases of citizenship waiting for approval. There is no solid reason behind it. Security issue is a made up bulshit to hold migrants from voting in the next election (quoted from MP office). The more you sit back, the more you would be pushed back. They want to reduce the number of migrants because it puts the future of conservatives in danger. I applied for FOI and it was mentioned in the FOI all requirements met (10 months before approval). When applying for approval ask for a reason that your application is not approved. Ask for all the records and documents in CCPT and strongly ask for an evidence showing that department is waiting for a document from a third party to approve your case. I could find a direct telephone number from NSW ceremony section. I called so many times and asked questions that one of the information officers gave me this number and told me it is disconnected, but I tried it and it work. They actually told me I was planned to attend a ceremony in October and I went to council and found out that ceremony for October is cancelled. They cancelled a lot of ceremonies because they want to show off in Australia day that they have a lot of people as Ausralian citizen. This number is only for NSW ceremony section."
  13. Hi Ana, I am not an expert on this. But if I ever get that much delay then I would have submitted an FOI. (1) Fill form 424a.pdf (I am not sure which form please google it) (2) Send an email to foi.nsw@border.gov.au if you are in NSW, QLD, ACT, TAS, NT or foi.vic@border.gov.au if you are in VIC, WA or SA. (3) Quote your citizenship application TRN and ask for "ICSE Case notes" related to this application "under the freedom of information act". You will get that in few days. the ICSE notes will reveal progress on the application and will tell you is it waiting for any checks like "all clear" "nil concerns" "decision ready" , etc. (4) After receiving the information and FOI is not showing any delays , then send feedback through global feedback section and write down the evidence, dates, mention the notes from FOI information and mention the judgement by Justice Bromberg Keep the content of the email polite and focused
  14. I think we may get some delay in approval of applications, as the citizenship certificate has the name of the current minister (Human Affairs) and his signature. Currently, I think there is no acting Human Affairs minister. So the application will be halted again. Am I right?
  15. I have come across two paper based applications in recent and both received test date really quick
  16. Hi sorry to ask this question again. Is Form 80 needed for citizenship application?
  17. https://www.sbs.com.au/yourlanguage/hindi/en/article/2018/06/07/australian-citizenship-new-changes-citizenship-bill-be-introduced-month The article says the Government may introduce the bill into the parliament before 1st July 2018. But, by going through different news, I think parliament next sitting will be about energy bill rather than citizenship. But I may be wrong on this.
