  1. anyone have a MA who could potentially know where they are at with Marketing Specialists? I applied without an MA due to costs.
  2. Did they want updated training benchmark info or info that hadnt been provided initially?
  3. Yeah I am just stating a point. All I have seen is those who have applied with MLTSSL being looked at recently. I haven't heard of a STSOL application being looked into recently. Makes sense though I guess given that MLTSSL are where they want to fill the gaps so they take priority. 12 is still within the 10 - 15 current processing time so you are all good. What further information have they asked for?
  4. Low Risk Countries: Andorra Austria Belgium Brunei Canada Denmark Finland France Germany Greece Hong Kong (SAR) Iceland Ireland Italy Japan Liechtenstein Luxembourg Malaysia Malta Monaco The Netherlands Norway Portugal Republic of San Marino Singapore South Korea Spain Sweden Switzerland Taiwan United Kingdom - British Citizen United Kingdom - British National (Overseas) United States of America Vatican City.
  5. true but probably a lot less applications post April 2017 announcement as MLTSSL still has routes to PR after March 1st whereas STSOL you lose if you snooze hence the rush to get applying which is probably why there may be a lot of dud applications to sift through.
  6. I mentioned before about my friend getting her application appointed after 4 months (applied Nov 2017) and here being on the MLTSSL, whereas I have been waiting since June 17 (marketing specialist STSOL). I am just guessing but I would say that prior to March 1st they have reclassified most of the STSOL applications as high risk in order for new measurements after the 1st March to reclassify each application according to any new the formula they have created which brings in the AFP and ATO partners etc. So be it TRT or DIRECT they need to look and validate the genuineness of all existing STSOL 186 applications using their new method post April 2017 announcement. I think after March things might move a lot quicker (fingers crossed) but don't listen to me I talk out my bum
  7. The way I am reading this is that they just aren't looking at 186 applications for STSOL skills until after the 1st of March when they can filter out the fraudulent crap from the genuine applications.
  8. was the BAS and training submitted initially with your employer nomination and they asking for an updated version because your waiting time has been nearly a year. Or, was the BAS and training not submitted initially and they are asking for it as it was just missed off? Thats what I am trying to establish, whether your application needs updated information due to the extended amount of time you have been waiting or if it just wasn't provided when you employer did the nomination.
  9. Had the BAS and training figures been provided on your application in the first instance? or were they asking for updated BAS and training during that 11 month time period?
  10. Sadly you are going to be waiting a while. If you only applied two months ago you've got at least another 8 to wait unless you job is a priority skill shortage
  11. My friend who was asked for their AFP police checks by a case officer got a response back from them with a query about her submissions the same day she submitted her police certificates. So the 28 day thing...is that real or a myth as clearly not the case for my friend.
  12. I can deliver a baby...just need towels and hot water! but can a midwife produce a marketing plan
  13. I applied June 2017 as marketing specialist (186 ENS Direct) My friend applied in November 2017 as a Midwife (186 ENS Direct) My Friend had hers allocated to a case officer this week....ahhhhhhhh! Me...I am still waiting
  14. Given the fact current 457 holders are still eligible for home loans, some already owning a home and all of us pay income tax, I can't personally see the route to PR being closed for us post March 2018 regardless of the new rules. For those already here many have made life decisions and long term investments based on the progression 457 offered to PR. Income tax on 95,000 457 holders must be around the $1bn in government revenues if my "back of a napkin calculation" is almost correct. Maybe everyone on a 457 should rack up some debt by getting a mortgage (new build of course), rack up a credit card and take out car loan. Then if we all have to leave we do what the Saudi's did back in 2008 and leave the banks with a big credit headache, all our cars at the airport and half built houses on the developments.
  15. When do you think these will be released? even if its an educated guess
  16. There is no way to login in full stop but I don't think logging on makes a difference to what your email will say. Its all in the letter and not online. My skills are still being looked at currently. All the skills that haven't been removed from either list now have additional limitations/exclusions which they will need to consider. This means they will most likely be reassessing those that have already been submitted against the skill exclusions. Lets hope you get the answer you want in the letter. No doubt there will be a rush on the assessment bodies with the recent news.
  17. found this on another thread if it helps anyone...TRT it is then after March 2018 Thanks for your response! I have contacted immigration and got a call back just now - they have confirmed your thoughts. She put me on hold and spoke to her manager and confirmed that the changes only refer to those wishing to enter via the direct entry scheme and not through transition to 186 - thank goodness for that, it was a sleepless night!
  18. Definitely! My role was on the market for 9 weeks before I applied in Feb 2016 and flew out 6 weeks later. There was a serious lack of skill in WA to meet the level required at the time. I quit my job, sold my car, my flat, my girlfriend, all to start a new life here. I finally got my 457 in November 2016. I will be gutted beyond all comprehension if I have to go back to the UK and start my life all over again. I made the commitment to move here, follow the Aussie way of life and work hard for a company who needed me to fulfil a much needed position and earn my 457. My skills assessment for Direct Entry Scheme 186 Visa started being accessed by VETASSESS in March having already waited 4 months since submitting the application. Even that is now on hold whilst they learn how to assess the new skill exclusions. #justmyluck It seems to me that these changes have not been properly thought out. I can't for one second believe those who are currently on 457 visa's wont have the option for PR post March 2018 given that many like myself gave up a lot to start a new and happy life in Australia with intention of getting PR and then citizenship.
  19. Taken Directly from DIBP Short-term Skilled Occupation List (STSOL) "There is no separate STSOL list on our website as visa programmes that utilise this list can also access some additional occupations on the MLTSSL. For ease of reference, we have combined both the STSOL and the eligible MLTSSL occupations together. See: Combined list of eligible skilled occupations. You must nominate an occupation on this Combined list of eligible skilled occupations if you are applying for any of the below: Employer Nominated Scheme (subclass 186) – Direct Entry Stream Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190) Skilled Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 489) - State or Territory nominated Temporary Work (Skilled) visa (subclass 457) Training visa (subclass 407)" Removed occupations On 19 April 2017, 200 occupations were removed entirely from the STSOL. See: List of the removed occupations A further 16 occupations on the MLTSSL (indicated by ‘** asterisks’) were restricted to only apply to the following visa programmes: Skilled – Independent (subclass 189) Temporary Graduate (subclass 485) Skilled-Regional(Provisional) (subclass 489) - Family nominated See: Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL) If your occupation has been removed from the list, you will be impacted if: you apply for one of the following visa programmes on or after 19 April 2017: Employer Nominated Scheme (subclass 186) – Direct Entry Stream Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190) Skilled Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 489) Temporary Work (Skilled) visa (Subclass 457) Training visa (subclass 407) That is, any applications already lodged before 19 April 2017 for the above visa subclasses (other than a 457 visa) will not be impacted (even if the occupation was removed on 19 April 2017). your subclass 457 visa or nomination application is still being processed by the Department on 19 April 2017. In such cases, your application cannot be approved. Once your application has reached the assessment stage, you will be contacted by the Department and given the opportunity to withdraw your application in writing. Alternatively, you can request a withdrawal in writing at any time and request a refund of the application fee. If you do not withdraw your application, it will be refused. If you already hold a subclass 457 visa, you will not be impacted by these removed occupations unless you apply for a further subclass 457 visa or are changing your occupation or employer.
  20. "The 95,000 skilled migrants currently in Australia on 457 visas would be unaffected and still be able for permanent residency at the end of the four years." - News.com.au
