  1. Merry Christmas everyone! Guess there's no chance we're getting our PR Christmas wish this year. DE May and June applications are getting grants, whilst April DE nominations have remained untouched? Weird! Oh well, hopefully any day now..or at least by January! I looked at the spreadsheet and was shocked to see my wait time already at 9 months now. Here's to a better 2017 and may we all get it sooner rather than later. Merry Christmas!
  2. Hi @ZoeSydney, thanks for sharing. Did your MA say anything about none priority occupations at all? Or did you hear about Marketing Specialists at all?
  3. Hi @jess6, that's a relief. I spoke to IMMI a few weeks ago and found out it was being processed differently. At that point he said that they were processing March TRN applications and February for Direct Entry.  Wish it weren't so but it was actually from someone who took the time to look at our file and clarify timelines with his colleagues. We didn't even have a CO at that point. I would be happy if that was incorrect, but even Feb-April data on our spreadsheets support this. So disappointed at how long this has taken all things considered. Nearing 8.5 months for us now. Pure agony and has only gotten better after I stopped checking daily, as I no longer expect to get it this month.
  4. Hi @jess6, yes, been waiting over 8 months now so praying the grant comes ASAP! Thanks for sharing your MA's input - did she say the same would apply to 186 Direct Entry applications? Read in one of the articles that DE applications (albeit already lodged) might be affected should the CSOL changes impact their occupation. How awful would that be!! I hear ya - have regrets too - been with my employer well over 2 years but had to go via DE because I turned down their 457 offer since we were already under spouse's 457! After his ENS didn't pushed through, wish I'd gone on my own 457 so that I could've done 186 TRN instead. After 8+ years on various visas here in Australia, PR is well overdue. Like yourself, my employer-sponsor is also a large, secure organisation and in the past, processing times have been around 4 months and thought we'd get processed quickly all things considered. But at this point, I'm resigned to the fact that maybe we'll be lucky to even get it by January, ha ha! Hope we get it soonest. The waiting is killer...
  5. This was the second time - but I didn't call them until after the 7th month of waiting post-lodgement. We've already been waiting over 8 months now.
  6. Hi @jess6, when did you lodge again? Just read your links and am flabbergasted that they would consider removing those from CSOL! It's the only list we're even on! Do they even realise how hard it is to go through 186 or to be sponsored by an employer in occupations not necessarily unpopular with locals? In our experience, they wouldn't do it unless they really need someone's specific skill set! I would have thought that logically, if they notice that certain occupations are being used predominantly for ENS, this should instead flag that the occupations NEED to be on the SOL (VS CSOL) since they are in fact in demand! So disappointed, Australia. If the application volume is so high, that means you should hire additional staff and at the very least, at least inform everyone what the reasonable and realistic timeframes are...and share what your basis for prioritising applications are! It's heartbreaking how the initially advised 4-6 months processing time has now blown up to 8+ months, with advice that hey, might even hit 9-10 months or so...no apologies, no certainties. It doesn't matter that application is complete and genuine. Maybe it all boils down to TRN vs DE and based on occupation priorities - which is really not supposed to be how this visa works. I rang immi over a week ago and spoke to someone more generous in sharing info - as of that date (over 8 months now!), we STILL had not been allocated a CO and in fact, IMMI said that they were still in March for TRN, and Feb for DE applications. No explanation on why the timelines are different. I was also advised that it might be best to accept that chances are, we'll have to wait until January or even February.
  7. Hi everyone, thanks @Bluegrass, @alex89, @thixuanlinhmai and @Zee14042016 for the compassionate words - I'm thankful this forum is somewhat a support (peer) group - we sure need it. I've tried to limit my visits here and on the spreadsheet, as it helps with the anxiety. Hitting 8 months soon and still no contact. We have a genuine and strong (I think given the requirements??) application, but it's rough not knowing anything, huh? Praying we get it before Christmas (and that we don't encounter any issues) - that would be overwhelmingly amazing. I noticed the significant decrease in approvals last week. Hope this just means that immigration are neck-deep working through our applications and we will soon have a week chock-full of PR grants again (like a month or so ago!) Congrats to all the new PRs and best of luck to the rest of us. Let's keep smiling.
  8. Hi everyone, feeling disillusioned and have decided to clock out of this for now. It's getting too stressful and I think we'd be lucky to even get it prior to Christmas (lodged early April). Regretfully, I rang IMMI yesterday and was told that they're still processing February - same response for many months now. He said that there are reasons for prioritising cases but they cannot disclose. Unfortunately, it doesn't help manage our expectations. Also, I would advice NOT ringing immigration if possible. The person I spoke to yesterday sounded quite irate, even if I was very polite. I'm a bit worried that calling may have hurt our case - hope not. Goodbye for now and good luck to all of us!
  9. Hi @Sweetu, I would've thought so given we've already gone through skills assessments! Bluegrass also mentioned here that his/her MA noted that IMMI has split their processing and seem to be lagging with DE unfortunately..hope they get more staff working on it - it's so stressful going well past the usual timeframes and not having any idea whatsoever.
  10. Hi @Bluegrass, then that means my recent obsession with DE vs TRN timelines has some merit? Hope my calculations are accurate enough and we at least get our PRs granted (finally) before they shutdown for the holidays! I cannot imagine having this spillover to next year again. Do you know when they shut down for Christmas exactly? I hear they close over two weeks - is that true? I wouldn't be surprised if they have skeletal/light staff as people often take AL that period.
  11. Thanks for the responses and for adding occupation columns! Thinking it's a combination of factors since others w/same occupation got processed faster. I've made some calculations specifically for 2016 DE applications wherein nomination + visa were lodged at around the same time. Not sure if this has much value, but from my analysis, thought it wouldn't hurt to share. If DE has any impact on current timelines, then DE average processing times for Jan-Mar 2016 = 232-237 days, with most being in the 238-240 range. If we include pending APR DE cases, it's at 232-236 BUT, these are ongoing so there's a strong margin of error. I haven't hit those numbers yet myself so have decided to chill, wait and see..earlier is best of course!
  12. @marianaammon Marketing Specialist. I've seen others with the same getting grants in 6-7 months or less..
  13. Any April fellas still pending with NO idea if their case has been allocated?? Haven't heard anything at all and ours was from early APR. Wish we weren't just waiting indefinitely - checking each day - 6, 7 months...Maybe I should ring to follow up? Been told that I shouldn't.
  14. Hi @Yingsun, CONGRATS on your new life as PR! EXTRA happy to see a Direct Entry application getting granted. Gives me a bit of hope...hope that ours gets processed soonest. Lodged April and still nary a word. I was starting to think DE applications were low priority given all the (exclusively) TRN grants recently. By the way, I'll add your details to the spreadsheet, thanks!
  15. Hi @Ajm, did he apply via Direct Entry and did he lodge both nomination and visa application last June?? That's really quick, good on him! What's his occupation?
  16. Hi @Bluegrass, did your MA mention anything about DE applications taking longer than TRN? I'm wondering if being DE means it takes longer? Is there anyone here who can advice? We haven't heard anything and it's still 'received'. I was reviewing the spreadsheets and noticed DE applications in 2016 have (often) taken longer, going so far as 7-10 months, yikes. Pray we all get it soonest. Cannot imagine the stress if we hit December and still nothing. Someone posted here once that grants trickle down to nada during the holiday period.
  17. Hi @Ayra, CONGRATS! Was it via Transition or Direct Entry? We have similar timelines though I have heard nothing so far - really keen to hear from you, as it seems that the April approvals to-date are largely TRN cases. Also added your details to the spreadsheet earlier.
  18. CONGRATS to all the new PRs! Glad to hear that some processing work's happening on the weekends - they might be trying to catch-up with the backlog? Hope so! Hi @Zee14042016 and @marianaammon, we lodged nomination 08-Apr and visa shortly thereafter, but have not heard anything to-date. I would've thought that our application was pretty straightforward and the agent even predicted a swift grant all things considered however, application is still 'received' so currently trying to keep it all in perspective - that PR will come in due time - we're probably just extra stressed given our timeline expectations.
  19. Congrats @FullDuck! How many people are in your application and was it via TRN or Direct Entry? Thank you! Hope you can answer - helps the rest of us still waiting. Also added your details to the spreadsheet.
  20. @aussiepr, @I WANT PR and @paramjitkaur633 - I feel ya. We've been here many years too..temporary visas didn't seem too bad in the early years, but over time, it has felt like a leash. Praying that we finally get our PR, but you are right - our lives are forever changed too. We didn't realise that the road to PR in Australia would be so long and treacherous. I hope we all get it very soon.
  21. Hi @Ranim, when was your AFP police clearance granted? I thought it was valid for 12 months?? Wow, sounds like you already have a CO processing your application. Grant should follow.
  22. CONGRATS @JessApri8, how wonderful! Thank you - I pray the universe hears and heeds your words. We don't know if our NOMI has been picked up yet - employer's agent says they are discouraged from chasing IMMI regarding this - but most of the 08-Apr NOMIs seem to have been asked for documents or approved already. :frown: Hopefully our PR comes soon.....
  23. HELP! When I rang IMMI, they said they couldn't disclose info relating to my nomination (08/Apr), but that VISA app hadn't been allocated yet. Employer's agent advised that since we lodged around the same time, visa will likely be picked up by the same CO. So are NOM and VISA applications normally allocated to separate COs? I'm hoping NOMI has already been picked up and visa will be processed by the same CO..AND that they didn't disclose since I'm not "authorised" - Is this wishful thinking on my part??
  24. Congrats @newpr11 and @mangel83! Please add your details - we have a new spreadsheet since the old one got locked for editing. It's in my signature below. Thanks and enjoy your new lives!
  25. Hi @JessApri8, thanks, love the positive attitude! You're right - no news might be good news? Yesterday I was so down and out, but today I decided to just stop expecting so that I can stop being disappointed, ha ha! Also, nomination was 08/Apr, visa 18/Apr so maybe it's a bit later than the others. Anyway, we will all get it soon enough - all in God's good time. We gotta have faith. Nomination was via MA, visa was just us. You'll probably get PR any moment now!
