Wishful has talked about the new "immiaccount". If anyone gets any further information I would love to know if , when the time comes, we can pay our second VAC payment if we have processed our application through an agent ?. Think its better to pay Immi direct if that was possible.

Hi, it was a straight forward medical examination then an x-ray. I would say try not to worry as I am over weight , eye sight is not the best these days , varicose veins , a fairly minor heart condition and you can throw in ugly for good measure. I apparently passed ! ( won't be hitting the beach in Speedos you be relieved to hear) my wife had a perfect bmi , no veins or heart condition and good eyesight ( she only sees the good in me thankfully) but had a problem with her x-ray . Think it's all sorted now. The health centre we attended were super friendly , helpful and efficient.

Hi 143 Applicants, Happy Christmas to all and hope 2018 will see many of us as residents of Australia. Scary yet exciting. Had a hitch with our medicals but after some tests we are back on track. House sale as yet going through ok and now the trauma of deciding what to take and what to leave behind, but its nice trauma I suppose. Our Daughter had her Centrelink interview early November, are they still averaging 3 months to process the forms etc?. Hoping everything clicks together and maybe start our next chapter in March or April. Hope its a happy New Year for everyone. Good Luck !

Cannot do anything until January as second x-ray can’t be done until then. Hopefully it’ll all be passed and visa granted soon after. We have accepted offer on our house so anticipate Feb / March completion . Just hope it all comes together like a Christmas dinner !

Hi , I have been in hibernation for a while. We hit a problem with the medical and my wife is doing some tb tests. Sure all's well but it has put three months in our time due to second x-ray required. It is like watching a giant egg timer !. However, we have accepted an offer on our house so hopefully everything will come together early in the new year.( Please no more delays, I am getting older !)

Hi All How does the AOS and Centrelink process work?. My daughter has been phoning to make an appointment and to ask what is needed but is on hold for literally hours ! She waited for 4 hours on one occasion !. Can she just turn up to the offices or is their an electronic or email system ? My agent doesn't know and thinks she can just turn up, anyone had similar experience and any advice please,

Not been around for a few days. hope everyone is ok We have received our email giving 28 days to complete police checks ( applied for) and medicals ( booked ) . no mention of case officer though ?. House not sold but 2nd vac £ sorted so that's a big worry of our backs. Things seem to be moving along now, the pound has rallied a few cents too ?

Hi All, So we are looking at preparing for our medicals. In past posts I am sure I've seen comments about a clinic in Edinburgh that are really good and applicant friendly but I tracked back and can't seem to see anything?. Has anyone commented on this or got information please?. Also, what is the process , do we automatically have to provide medical background of our families and if so how deep? Or do they only ask for that in certain cases? Any information would be helpful Geoff

GREAT FORUM ! Hopefully the finishing line is in sight for my wife and I, well possibly 6 months before we actually leave the Uk all being well with the rest of the process. Ironically until we tie up our funding via our house sale we need to take a little time. Anyway I just wanted to say its been a great help being in the forum in the few months since I joined. We all know how un informed the visa system is and there are so many questions and scenarios that go through our minds with nowhere official that seem able to put our minds at rest. This is a massive move for most of us with houses to sell, finances to raise , businesses to wrap up etc etc. The System I feel could be a bit more friendly given the fact our worlds are turning upside down , geographically literally !. This forum has been a great lifeline and sharing everyone elses journey and sharing the same boat has definately helped. Big thank you to Alan Collett ! Alan Collett especially gives so much advice and its all good information due to the fact he is a Migration agent. Its great and unsual that someone is willing to give so much help and information without charging for it , especially as he is involved in the system for a living as an agent and via his website "Go Matilda" with plenty of information and advice.. Any newbies should have a look there , especially if you have not got an agent as Alan would be my choice if I was starting out due to his invaluable input here. Hopefully we will all have some good things to share over the next few months .

Its so difficult to judge. If we sell to early we have to rent or burden relatives, to late and risk starting over or a bridging loan £££ . If we get the house sold we have decided to go on holiday to eat up the time. It will all be worth it in the end, waves lapping on the white sand, babysitting, try and fing a job, a house, medicare forms and more... yes itll all be worth it
