  4. Hi Tidang, Mmmm, As you must know the process is long and we have little information available. Our daughter paid the AOS bond about 10 weeks ago I think but only had the letter of acceptance two weeks ago about the same time we had request for payment of 2nd Vac. We paid that on Wednesday 17th April and are waiting for our visa to be granted. Reading the other recent posts some of us might have process delayed to slow down the numbers of migrants. Selfishly I hope we escape that as we have waited such a long time and hopefully you too as you are so close also. I have tried to control my frustrations and adopt the " It will happen when it happens attitude " because it will happen when it happens. Its hard to give a certain answer but we waited what seems like a long time from paying the bond to getting our letter of acceptance but we had medical issues to clear up. Hopefully you will not have the same wait, but how long will it be ... who knows. We had been given 28 days to pay the 2nd VAC if that helps. I believe you can ask for a further 28 days but I would check with your agent if you have one. If not put the question out to the forum as I know some experienced agents very kindly sometimes share their knowledge . ( Hi Allan C )
  5. Thanks so much Fisher1. We are only taking our sofas and personal effects ( mainly sentimental) we are staying with our daughter so will have essentials there. We are sending our excess clothing, my beloved bike and my even more beloved guitar so I think I might re think that one ! Thanks. I feel the same as everyone has given so much help and I only sign on every now and then and have received much more than I have given ! Thanks everyone again
  6. Thanks for the advice everyone, The rate fell in our favour sort of and we did a deal with Accendo fx who we have used before. Checked rate against moneycorp etc and it was ok after a haggle. The 2 nd VAC paid to immigration and we are waiting for our Visa email then its booking flights. After 3 1/2 years everything has happened in two weeks ! Pss are coming for our stuff next week and it is all bonkers in our house at the moment. I will have a bit more time to explore the other companies before our next transaction. If you hear a big Yahooooo across the uk its because we've had our email. Thanks again
  7. Thanks for the best wishes !. I am shopping for rates on transfers. TORFX ACCENDO and MONEYCORP totally different figures.Moneycorp best by a few hundred dollars ?? on £48,000 Are they all "Safe" firstly and anyone had good/bad experience ? Ive not used moneycorp before , it's alot of money to make a mistake with
  8. Hi Everyone, After 3 years 3 months waiting, weekly emails to Immi for updates, problem after problem with medical tests ( mainly Bureaucratic ). Yesterday, we have finally received our request for 2nd Vac !. Ironically our solicitor phoned to say we have exchanged contracts on our house sale also. So Perth, Western Australia is finally in our sights and we can organise international movers and look at flights . We are not there yet but hopefully everything will be sorted for a late May early June departure. Thanks very much to everyone on the forum for advice and help and just sharing your journey with others. It is comforting to share the same boat. Good luck to all of the long timers and new applicants and wish you all good luck and little as possible stress. LIke me and my wife , one day I hope you will have a big smile and great sense of relief.
  9. Hi All, There has been alot of talk and confusion about the changes with AOS and centrelink requirements. Alan Collett from "go matilda" as always helping outwith free advice , Our daughter has had the AOS interview etc 8 weeks ago paid the $14k and has been waiting for the acceptance letter so I am presuming we are not affected by the changes ???? Anyone any ideas on the waiting time on receiving the acceptance letter from centrelink ?. We have eventually got our medical situation sorted so we were hoping to have the request for 2nd Vac.That won't happen until the Aos is completed. Just trying to build a timeframe picture as we move out of our house in 4 weeks and move in with relatives which is not ideal. Stuff we are taking to Oz will go to storage as until we have visa granted don't dare take a chance on shipping it. Any info or comments from anyone welcome thanks ( duplicated on other post sorry )

  11. The Visa cost our significant but I am grateful that we can ( just about) afford the fees and get somewhere to live in OZ. We can hopefully enjoy some great everyday experiences with our Kids and grandkids in our last x years. I am sure there are thousands of people who have no choice but to join the 25+ years queue. Its a fair charge all in all , we can't expect Australia to be as Liberal with the taxpayers contributions as the UK is. How many would vote for a similar system to be introduced here in the UK ?.
  12. Congrats on the progress! Please let me know how when visa issued as Elnak said 5 days for him ! hope that's the going rate. Good luck with everything
  13. After 16 weeks our extra Medicals eventually done and sent to Immigration, so hopefully now waiting for request for 2nd VAC. Any idea how long the wait is between paying 2nd Vac and getting visa at the moment ?
  14. Hi All Great to see post with good news ! Congratulations ! Light at the end of our tunnel but wondering how long the Bl***y tunnel is ! Hopefully soon
  15. Re A O S My daughter is my sponsor and it was about ten weeks inbetween interview and payment request. All drags on after such a long wait of years but it will happen ( he says pulling out what hair he has left !) We've had extra medical test which took 8 weeks only to find the lab messed the dates up so now a further 8 weeks so you will probably be in oz before us . Good luck Quote Edit

  19. Hi All, Our saga is ongoing !! after having a test to check for TB and waiting 8 weeks for the results, the Lab it seems got dates mixed up and we now have to do another one and wait another 8 weeks . But I suppose its not that much more after the 3 year wait, worse could have happened . Meanwhile, our daughter had her centrelink sponsor interview about 10 weeks ago and has heard nothing since?. Any idea what the current wait is, or should be ?
