  1. Hi everyone. I really need your advice now. I am a dependant child just turned 24 and included with my parents in our 143 contributory parents visa lodged on 23rd June 2014. I have been in Australia for 10 years under student visa. From the date of lodgement, I have begun taking my 2 years master course, which would have finished in June 2016. I am aware that I have to be fully dependant on my parents and being a full time student at all times till granted the visa. My course is a 2 year course, which has 4 semesters with 3 subjects each. I have been enrolling in three subjects for the first three semester. However, I failed one of the subject, which would lead to the case that I will have 4 subjects in my fourth semester, which is too much for a master student according to my unit coordinator. Thats the reason why they allowed me to do 2 subjects in my fourth semester and doing last two in an additional fifth semester, which would result in me having to apply for the extension of my student visa, which is not a big deal at all. My student visas will expire on 15th September 2016, based on the assumptions that we would have been granted our visa in June 2016, two years from lodgement date. However, as we all knew that the department has been delaying the progress, which I believe would at least take us another 2 or 3 months. I am just afraid that when being assessed, the case officer would see that I have been doing two subjects in my fourth and fifth semester, which cant be considered as a full time student. I have been engaging with my university and they said that I am always a full time student at their university, they can provide me an enrolment letter saying I have been and currently a full time student even though I am only doing two subjects in the last two semesters, as there are only 12 subjects in my degree. My questions are: Will the case officer be getting really tough on these type of matters? Can I just get the enrolment letter certified and provided by the university to send it to them if needed? or the worst case is I have to find a way to do another subject this semester?

  6. There are 7175 places allocated to Contributory Parent visa category in the 2015-16 Migration Programme. Due to high demand of the Contributory Parent visa category processing times for these may take up to 24 months. Your application will be processed according to the order of lodgement date and once your application has been assigned to a case officer, they will contact you. Please be assured that the department will endeavour to finalize your application as quickly as possible. What a joke ...
  7. Hi Moomin and Julie. too bad just received a reply saying i have to wait till the 23th month of lodgement. So, no hope on medical i guess.
  8. Yep i sent an email today asking for HAP, hopefully will get a reply soon for my luck. Will let u guys know.
  9. Hi Harvi. As far as i know, you and a few other people somehow were able to request for medical HAP and AOS done just a year after you guys lodged your applications. That really suprised me. Just wonder how did you do it? might as well follow u guys to make the process quicker maybe
  10. Hi Steve, we lodged our application a week ahead of you and both myself and my parents have been in Australia since then. I applied for a student visa to do my master as i am the dependant and my parents staying here with tourist visa. My sisters sponsored us in the application. As far as i know from our lawyer, after we pay for all the VAC fees , we will have to leave the country for about a week in order for the visa to be granted. Doesnt matter if you go all together or separate.
  11. Hi Julie. Yes indeed it is very frustrating. I feel like an idiot keep sending them email with no subjects every week and waiting for reply to track on the processing date too. but guess not much we can do right. i can see on the reply email from them that we will be given a case officer on the 23th month so i guess we should be receiving our case officer in mid May or end May too. Lets keep us all updated. Cheers
  12. Hi guys. We lodged our application for 143 on 23rd of June 2014. I was just wondering if we can ask for HAP number for medical checks or we have to wait for case officer to be allocated. Thank you very much
