And visa today! NSW PESE, Insurance Consultant. It's been said before, but this really is a great forum to help people understand what's going on, and people's openness about their situations and willingness to give advice is commendable. Cheers, and best of luck to all.

The nomination application dates are from last year, which I suspect is why they're processed quickly relative to the visa application.

Evening all, just been told immi have requested further information on my nomination, being a statement on my current employment as my contract was signed some years ago. Fingers crossed they turn it around quickly!

Would that not be 'paying for visa sponsorhip'? I thought the employer had to pay the nomination fee https://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Work/Work-1/payment-for-visas-declaration-requirement

Re the first question, when I spoke to immigration they acknowledged that there wan't a drop down for it and said to just upload it under "other" and specify what it was.

Out of curiosity, why would it be two months? Year end is in three weeks' time.

Reciprocal healthcare covers the adequate insurance requirement under visa condition 8501 for a 457. As I understand it, you can actually apply for full medicare as soon as your 186 application goes in, provided you have a current visa which allows you to work.

I asked Immi if I needed it when I was putting in my application in January. They said absolutely yes, although that may, I guess, have been so as to avoifd the potential pain of having to ask for it later on. Given how long it takes for them to turn around things after they ask for documents, I'd say it's safest to give them everything they might possibly want.

It isn't super reassuring that they seem to be taking six to eight weeks according to the email to go through a month's worth of applications.

I got this, even though I already uploaded it with my application. I just called the NSW team, who said it was a generic reminder that went out to anyone to who applied after 14 January.
