  1. Hi everyone, just thought I'd let you all know mum and dad were finally granted their Visa last Friday 1st July! Lodgment date was 19th May 2014. Hooray!
  2. That's awesome! Can I ask how long after you paid the 2nd VAC did you wait until you got the email? It's been 2.5 weeks for us ....still waiting!
  3. Hi Kim No we haven't been told we've got a Case Officer yet - immi just sent a letter to the migration agent mum and dad are using asking for the 2nd Vac. When I call to get an update I ring 131 881. If you call early in the morning (8am) and press Option 1 (I think it's 3 times through the voice menu) they will tell you they're too busy with other calls and it gives you the option to get them to call you back by pressing 1 and leaving your name, your phone number is already recorded. It's quite good as they tell you approx. how long they will take to call you back (at that time in the morning it's usually between 11 and 20 mins). Saves you waiting for hours with the receiver stuck to your ear
  4. Yep you may as well stop checking as it looks like we didn't make this financial year I actually called immi 3 times this week, as I've found I get slightly different answers depending on who I talk to. First guy said it's just a case of waiting for an email now, second time I called I got a woman who told me 4-8 weeks, third time I called I got a young guy who told me 4 weeks! So roll on July I guess!
  5. It is outrageous, they shouldn't have asked for the 2nd VAC if we weren't going getting the Visa straight away (well at least within around 7 days) who wants to part with nearly $90k only to and wait another 4-8 weeks until a decision is made? Yes they are offshore, waiting patiently.........
  6. Yeah they did ask for a Form 80, which we did and police check but that expired after 12 months so they did that again earlier this year. What stage are you at?
  7. Hi Kim, They got their HAP No. ages ago with their acknowledgement (one of the lucky ones). We actually haven't had a case officer assigned yet (or maybe we do and they're anonymous) - we went from hearing nothing for ages straight to the letter asking for the second VAC! We weren't expecting that, although everyone is different, nothing is in the same order for everyone from what I'm gathering on here. Can't say I'm thrilled that we have now paid the money under the assumption that we'd get the visa almost straight away. If they knew they weren't going to give us the Visa for another 4-8 weeks then why ask us for the money so early!?
  8. Hi all, My parents lodged on 19th May 2014, they had an email from immigration last week requesting payment of 2nd VAC, which I organized, called them up today to find out if they received, which they did, it's all been receipted, they've looked over the application and they do not require any further paperwork from us as everything is in order; so I asked what the time period is between receipt of 2nd VAC and grant of Visa - could be anywhere between 4-8 weeks I was told just now. So disappointed! After reading all the threads on here that people were getting their visas within about a week of paying the second VAC, so looks like we have possibly missed out being granted within the 2015/16 quota. Another waiting period of who knows how long until we get it.
  9. Hey there....am I reading your timeline correctly..you've been waiting for a CO since you had your AOS approved in September 2015?!
  10. Hi Julie, Yes they were told that they needed to do those 3 things within 10 months of lodgment date. I must have all started changing right around the time they lodged i.e. they were given a HAP no. and the other lady I was talking to on here (Kim) wasn't, yet she lodged just a few days after mum and dad. Anyway, we're all pretty powerless.....all we can do is wait and try to keep busy!
  11. My parents were told to do their police check, medical and AOS when their paperwork was lodged....but because of the huge delay their agent told them not to bother because they expire in 12 months so they would have to redo them. So they had to wait. They've just sent off their paperwork yesterday to do their police check....I've done the AOS...all approved. Now they're waiting for the go ahead to do their medical. The agent they're with is also helping another couple that lodged in April. ...so when THEY get told by immi to do their medicals....the agent will give mum and dad the nod to do theirs
  12. Lol.....the wait for my parents is painful. I'm in Brisbane. ...lived here 11 years.....have you done your paperwork for your AOS? Or do you not need to do that part? Looks like we will be finding out info around the same time!
  13. Hi Kim, Sorry yes 19th May was their Lodgment date. We've done everything there is to do now, bank guarantee paid, AOS approved, just waiting for the go ahead for medicals and police checks which I expect they will get told to do once we get the CO assigned. I think it starts moving pretty fast after that. Thanks for the info! Sinead
  14. Hi there, I was approved as an AOS for my parents on 18th February 2016 - how long do you think till I get assigned a Case Officer? They've been told to hold off on the police checks and medicals for the moment until they get assigned a CO. I've been looking at everyone's timelines and there doesn't seem to be any indication of the length of time between AOS Approval and being assigned a CO. My parents had their application acknowledged on the 19th May 2014.....so we are almost at that 2 year waiting period mark.....getting closer!!
