  1. You can drive with your UK licence for 3 months. You must however get your Aus DL within 3 months to drive post 3 months period. Reciprocal agreements have some limitations. Go to your nearest Medicare and get your full Medicare (if there is such thing). Finally, you need to PARTY! Congratulations. All the best Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. NICE! congratulations! Here come HR September transition files glued to screen
  3. Looks like someone is messing around with the Timeline sheet. I could see many applicants in September but there are only a few now! August tab has also been messed with. Could the admin of the sheet restore it? Greatly appreciated. It is a great tool to anticipate your grant period so let's use it responsibly.
  4. Rightly said! If there is one thing that we can commend DIBP is on - is their SLAs. It is very clear right from the day one lodges an application that the wait time is going to be between 6 to 8 months. So, there is no point in getting restless. I also agree with @TyronG. The policies are fair and transparent compared to many other countries around the world. There are of course exceptions. There will always be exceptions and Murphy's law will apply every now and then but overall, it is by the book. So, on this rainy (at least so in Brisbane) Saturday evening, let us remember one thing - nothing is permanent, not even wait
  5. Congratulations Rachel - Tears of joy are awesome - let them tears out! have a great day
  6. Just finalised my medicals too! all clear nothing to worry. Thanks for your help.
  7. Now that you have bought it up - It is all a big money making machine, this immigration department. In 2011 when they "reviewed" their pricing structure and introduced "fee for all applicants" the economy received a $1.7 billion injection! now according to this link they will make an extra $250 million this year. I think they are untouched by ACCC and the buyers of their services cannot be covered by consumer protection laws but I may be wrong there. However, there is no denying that it is the "seller's market." As long as there is demand and the supply is scarce - prices will be high (ninth grade economics)! Contrary to the comment "when my kids ask for money..... " I will have to tell them "your dad used to be a money machine, until the day he applied for a PR" But hey, no one forced my hand at this, I chose to apply for the visa after reviewing all options and going through the prices. So, I shouldn't be complaining :daydreaming:
  8. Cheers Jazz! puts my mind at ease. We paid a bomb to get out medicals done, didn't we? I still can't believe they charge ~$200 for my 2 year old just to check height, weight and cognitive functions! It took exactly 5 minutes to do all that. Anyways, all will be worth when the grants come.

  10. My family and I went for our health examinations yesterday at the Brisbane BUPA centre. All went well. When I check online, my wife and child's medicals are cleared and finalised. It says - No further action required. But when I check mine, it says - "Examination is in Progress". I called up BUPA to see what could be the reason and they say your's might still not be in the system so wait another 5 working days at least! Has anyone else had this before? Am I panicking for no reason?
  11. Congratulations Danny!! I could see from the sheet that you are from a LR country. I guess there was another applicant who got their grants who were from a LR country. I hope once they clear all LRs for the month, they can start with HRs. Fingers, Toes and all other appendages crossed!
  12. Congratulations CliffB. Ive applied exactly a month after you did. Hopefully it stays that way Enjoy your weekend. Nom and Visa - 13/09/15 HR, Transition.
