  1. Yes, if business is sponsoring you on 187 and no previous sponsorship, there is no requirement for Training Benchmark. From March 2018: Training requirement: Employers nominating a worker for a visa will be required to pay a contribution to the Skilling Australians Fund. The contribution will be: - payable in full at the time the worker is nominated; - $1,200 per year or part year for small businesses (those with annual turnover of less than $10 million) and $1,800 per year or part year for other businesses.
  2. If Sponsoring business has employees on 457/186, they have to meet the training benchmark (1% or 2% of Business payroll). For 187 there is no requirement to meet the training benchmark, but when you apply, all details of sponsoring business will be checked; and if sponsoring business has sponsor for 457/186 visa, they must have to fulfil the training benchmark requirement and it includes the payroll of business not just payroll of sponsored employees only. Training Benchmark A/B is defined as expenditure made in the previous financial year or the previous 12 months. The business must show recent expenditure at the required level, and also commit to maintaining this level of funding for each 12 months period following approval of the sponsorship.
  3. Depends... If Business has sponsored someone before on 457, they have to meet the training benchmark requirement....
  4. Or your company can show training-provision expenditure during the last 12 months to the equivalent of at least 1% of payroll. The training needs to be provided to employees of your business who are Australian citizens or permanent residents.
  5. It all depends on your grading, assuming you are at grade 4, anything above $42074 is fine. Top grade 6 pay should be not less than $45905.60. So looks all good. Nothing to worry. But superannuation contributions should be 9.5% of your pay not $4000 as far as I know. Check on that and update/upload your contract as soon as you can if required.
  6. What extra work he/she is doing? If he/she has to upload docs to keep your file updated, even that should be included in the agreed fees. All of the fees which he/she can charge are supposed to be in the contract. Check your contract Mate...
