  1. Hi Marisa, Thank you. Will there be a cost involved? What is the economy like at the moment and do you know of any Health and Safety professionals? Also do you have fire risk assessors in Australia or are they called something else? Kind Regards Shaun
  2. Hi Stormy, Thanks for the reply. So its the skills assessment first. I was hoping not to part with any money initially. VETASSESS it is then.
  3. Hi all, So have done quite a bit of research using the links that you have provided and my occupation is on the list which is good to see. It looks like the Visa that I need to go for is the Skilled Nominated visa (Subclass 190). Not sure of how long that will take and also not sure if I can choose the state/area that I would like to go but thinking that may be on the EOI? I have priced up the cost of a visa and now looking at submitting an EOI. My family and I would be looking to rent initially so I would think at least 6 months rent would be required. I wonder if anyone knows how much I should have saved be looking to have to make the move? Also does anyone know of any fire, health and safety professionals? Friends or family in WA? That could give me some information on career prospects? Again, any replies are most welcome. Kind Regards Shaun
  4. Good Afternoon all, Looking to make the move or considering it should I say. It would be great if anyone can provide a simple step by step process on what to do and how to do it. For example...d we start with an Expression of interest or must our career be o the SOL first? Thanks in advance and looking forward to finding out everything we need to know. Kind Regards Shaun

  6. Good Morning all, I would like yo know what opportunities there are in Australia for Health and Safety professionals. I have and MSc in Health and Safety, NEBOSH qualifications including fire safety and several years experience as a fire risk assessor and providing fire, health and safety consultancy and training. I have noticed that at present Health and Safety Advisor has been taken off the skilled occupation list but wondered what the market is currently like for health and safety opportunities , especially in Perth. Also are fire risk assessors required in Perth and what are the qualifications required. I've heard about the Cert IV and would be happy to undertake. Salary wise, what is the average salary for a health and safety professional? Any advice, discussion and information would be most welcome. Thank you and look forward to finding out anything and everything.
  7. Hi thl4kel, we are thinking about a move to Perth and I also work in Health and Safety with a Masters degree in OHS. Although the mining industry has been in decline, surely roles for OHS in the city must be available? I have regular updates from reed seeking OHS advisors, managers etc. Thoughts?

  9. Hi guys, I am also looking into emigrating for a role in Health and Safety. Very surprised that NEBOSH is not at all recognised especially with the vast amount of companies and projects in the middle east all insisting on NEBOSH quals, thought maybe Australia would be the same. I used to run my own painting and decorating firm and was going to try to use that a few years back but decided to retrain in Health and Safety gaining a Masters Degree and 11 years experience in total. Are there particular states which are looking for Health and Safety professionals as it is on the SOL list.
  10. We are looking at WA. What is your profession and did you go over on your visa?
  11. Is the decline mainly in WA? What about other states?
  12. No worries Jem. Can I ask you what would be the 1st step or even the step by step process is?
  13. Hey Jem. I checked the SOL list for Health and Safety Advisor but where can I find the most upto date list?
  14. Hi guys, Could anyone please give me a step by step guide as to what I should do to get the ball rolling for mine and my families move to Perth. Do I have my skills assessed 1st? Or do I submit an EOI or apply for a visa? I would be most appreciative of any easy step by step suggestions. 34, married with 3 children. Working in the UK at present as a Health and Safety Auditor and 11 years experience and qualifications upto a Masters degree in Health and Safety.
  15. Hi Guys, new here and seeking advice on career opportunities within Health and Safety Management and Auditing. I have an MSc Degree and NEBOSH qualifications. I would like to know if these are recognised and career opportunities at present for my skillset with 11 years Health and Safety experience. Hi to everyone, I would appreciate any advice on what type of visa to costs of moving and anything that would be helpful. I am 34 and looking to emigrate with my wife and 3 children.
  16. Hi thanks for getting back to me. I have a Masters degree in Occupational Health Safety and Wellbeing. Upon looking at mining careers they request NEBOSH. Is it not that well recognised in Melbourne? I am looking to move to Western Australia.
