    Spouse visa

Hi all, We are currently based in Sydney and are going to apply for a UK spouse visa. Im British and my wife is Australian (no ancestry). Does anyone know whether the 62.5K GBP financial requirement can be met by a relative (based in the UK) transferring the money to an account held in my name here? Thanks in advance!
  2. For us, it's the Netflix series 'The Detectorists'. Great stuff.
  3. SteveJ and BacktoDemocracy. Many thanks for your responses, I have a bit more direction now. Thanks again.
  4. Hi all. Not sure if this is the right section of the forum to be posting this! I live in Sydney and since my parents moved into a retirement home, their house is sitting empty and needs a bit of renovation -such as a part of the roof needs fixing and the electrical and plumbing need updating before it can be rented out. Has anyone undertaken a reno in the UK whilst living here in Oz? If anyone has, how did you go about managing it? I can only get fairly limed leave so it makes it difficult to be there.
  5. Didnt the co-founder of Greenpeace recently say that 'climate change' is a hoax?
  6. Hi Everyone, May I start by saying that I think the website and forum is an awesome resource to migrants! I have a few questions as we are throwing around the idea of spending some time back in the UK. My wife is Australian born and does not have UK ancestry. I was born in the UK and also have Australian citizenship. We have been married 6 years and have an 8yo child. She has been offered the opportunity of working in the UK on a company sponsored work visa for 2 years. Questions: If my wife enters the UK on the sponsored work visa, would she have to return to Australia to apply for a spouse visa? Would the time spent working in the UK on the sponsored work visa count toward time in the UK for the purposes of ILR status? Or would that only start once she has a spouse visa? Has anyone been through a similar situation and can shed some light on it? Thanks,
