  1. hello, sorry I didn't reply when you sent this! totally slipped through. Yes your right I think (but Immi didn't say) we were probably processed quicker as we were waiting in the non-contributory queue first. Cheers Katherine
  2. Just wanted to say thanks to the people on here to openly answer questions and help others. Your posts, past and present were a great help to me. My inlaws PV was processed and granted in just four months. That's pretty quick and while we don't know for sure why, we think its because we were already in the 804 queue for three years and thus that was taken into consideration when we applied for CPV. It really helped reading this blog and being ready for next steps like AOS and Form 80 as well to speed things up. So thanks again all of you, and good luck with the wait. We were three years waiting in the other queue and seeing numbers move oh so slowly (which is why we switched to CPV) so know how you feel.
  3. Don't panic, it's all pretty straightforward really. I'll PM you with info on what we've done. Cheers Steve Hi Steve, could you PM me as well. We received request for AOS. Cheers Katherine
  4. Hi Alan, Cruise doesn't cut it for leaving the country. You don't have to do all the passport and immigration stuff at destination countries. We looked into this for another purpose. Cheers KS
  5. Thanks Alan. Do you do one Form 80 per applicant? so one for mum and one for dad? Cheers, Katherine
  6. Hello, do all parents applying for a CPV 143 need to do a form 80? I notice some people don't mention it in their list of things they have done. Cheers. Katherine
  7. Thanks Fisher! We'll do that. Great advice. now where do I find some Mexicans ...... :biglaugh:
  8. Hi Fisher. I was looking through thread and noticed your signature. That you were in 103 queue, submitted a 143 in Jan and did those other tasks in Feb. I am in similar boat except have parents coming out of 804queue and have submitted a 143. I'm just wondering did IMMI ask you to do the police check and form 80 so quickly after your 143 application or was that your own initiative?
  9. Hi all am lodging a CPV 143 tomorrow for my inlaws. Was trying to get a feel for processing times. Most people's signatures are indicating the full two years that is currently estimated by DEPT of IMMI. Anyone else had any quicker processing? One quick question - are there extra complications if your parent is over 70? Regards Katherine
  10. Hello everyone. my Parents in law have been in the aged parent visa queue (Visa 804) for a few years and now considering paying the price to to skip the queue (Visa 864) as we bought a home with a granny flat for them. I think i understand most of it. I just have a few questions confusing me. Is there any chance of getting the application fee for the Visa 804 back, or transferred to the Visa 864 application process/price? Pensions question - They currently get UK government and work pensions. I understand they are not eligible for AUST age pension for 10 years. There are some website though that say the Assurance bond/Assurer must 'pay back' social security payments. In this instance would it be better to get the AUST age pension, and pay it back each year, to get the pension card and other benefits associated? Does anyone have any experience with pensions from UK to AUST and advice? any welcome. Parents are quite concerned about pensions of course, its a big decision for them. Thanks all, there are 500 pages on this thread so gave up searching after 50 odd Cheers. Katherine
