  1. The certificate is needed. We used NCS for my wife's citizenship application and it was a required document. You might try contacting the centre where he sat the test to see if they can reissue the pass letter. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Back from writing the test today. The toughest section was the listening test because if you switch off for a second you can miss an answer and there is no going back! Happened to me early on, was skim-reading the upcoming questions, not giving the recording my undivided attention and missed an answer. Reading and writing were straight forward and you have plenty of time. Speaking was fine, but the examiner ramped up the complexity of his questions quickly (we ended up debating the role of government in regulating health and the power of food industry lobbies). Talking for two minutes off the cuff is trickier than you think. Time seemed to drag by Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I'm sitting IELTS on Saturday and I'll let you know how it goes. As a native speaker not learning at all, all I've done is familiarise myself with the format by doing some practice tests Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Where to start!

I'm in a similar position with regard to applying. I was advised to not start the EOI too early because if you wrongly claim points your application is rejected and I think you have minimum wait period before you can reapply. I have to get state sponsorship so I'm starting with the skills assessment and language test now, and then once I've secured sponsorship, will complete EOI as I can then accurately claim points for education and work experience Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Hi Blighty, whether it is correct or not is TBD, but this is what I have done. I made sure that as much as possible in the declaration was verifiable by payslips, employment contracts, reference letters. I hope it helps! STATUTORY DECLARATION In support of evidence of employment and work-duties as a Research and Development Manager for Australian immigration skills assessment by VETASSESS I, ABG, of XYZ, UK do solemnly and sincerely declare as follows: 1) Name of Employer (address), is a company incorporated in England and Wales (incorporation number) of employer that researches and develops drugs 2) Worked at Employer as R&D Manager between month/year-month/year 3) My main duties in this role were: a) List of duties (used ANZSCO description as a basis so ticked all the boxes) 4) Month/year-month year of role 2 5) My main duties in this role were.....etc etc I make this solemn declaration conscientiously believing the same to be true and by virtue of the provisions of Statutory Declarations Act 1835 Declared at XYZ, UK This day of ……………………………………………………………… (signature of applicant making Declaration) Before me …………………………………………………… A Notary Public authorised to administer oaths on behalf of:
  6. Hi All. I'm finalising my documents for Vetassess skills assessment and was hoping for some insight into the process. Do they only assess on what's provided and approve/reject based on what's provided or is it more interactive than that and if they need more information they ask for it rather than simply rejecting/accrediting fewer years experience on the face value of what's presented. E.g. If a piece of verification information for one job is missing would they ask for it or just discount/reject it from your work experience. Obviously I'm not intending on leaving anything out, but the assessors might have a different opinion on my verification documents for each role. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Found the answers by contacting Vetassess directly. In case anyone in the future has a similar query, I only need to make 1 statutory declaration for all roles. As I'm in the UK, the declaration should be using UK format (unless I get the Australian consulate to witness it, in that case it should be Aus template). I only need a statutory declaration to the effect that I am not making my application from Australia if I have listed an Australian address as one of the contact addresses.
  8. I've got another question relating to Vetassess: I'm going down the route of making a statutory declaration rather than getting a statement of services from my employer as until I am sure of a positive outcome, and that I've locked in my bonus, I don't want to alert them to the fact that I am looking at emigrating. I have worked for the past 9 years with the same employer but in three different roles, each one pertinent (just more seniority) to my skills assessment. Do I need to submit this as three separate Stat. Decl, one for each role, or would one declaration covering all three roles be sufficient? I will also be submitting payslips, tax records, employment contract and addendums to the contract showing the promotions, and a reference letter from the company's previous CEO who I worked with for 6 of the 9 years and covers two of the 3 roles I am seeking assessment on.
  9. Wow, 17 weeks for Vetassess is a long time! Their website advises 6-8 weeks. Why did it take so long? To get up to 80 points you must be both well qualified and have lots of relevant work experience. I'm was hoping on them meeting those timelines as I have 8 years relevant work experience and MSc (completed prior to start of work experience), plus some academic publications and patents which would support my claim as R&D manager.
  10. Currently it's only Victoria sponsoring so I'm keen to get it in asap in case it is taken off the list. Right now going solo and getting advice from friends and family (and here), but considering the cost if I make a mistake I started looking at agents yesterday. I'm aiming to get my Vetassess in before end of January now and will speak to the agent my brother used (an Aussie) as his rates were pretty reasonable and got my brother through who had a more complex case as he didn't have any degree qualifications Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Thanks cjenky. Did you download a template that included the relevant legalese or just write out a statement of what your job entailed? Who did you get to notarise the document?
  12. Hi everyone. First of what I'm sure will be many posts on this forum. My family and I are looking to emigrate and although I have lots of qualifications, my job is not on the skilled independent list (R&D Manager, ANZSCO 132511) and so I will need to go the 190 State Sponsored route. I would really like to get the ball rolling on my application, but I would need to have Vetassess assess on my qualifications and employment for the State sponsorship application. I don't however want to alert my employer at this moment in time that I am intending on emigrating as it could affect my bonus that is coming up in May 2016. I can get my company to sign-off on a statement of services easily enough under the guise of needing it for applying for an upgrade in professional membership that I hold from Member to Fellow, but I don't want that to come back and bite me if Vetassess pick up the phone and call my employer to discuss my role in the company. Obviously I can wait until May to start the process, but I we really don't want to be wintering in the UK next year and losing 5 months waiting for the bonus will almost ensure that we won't be able to leave in 2016. If anyone has been in a similar situation and can provide any advise, hints, tips, or just some insight into their skills assessment process it would be greatly appreciated.
