  1. That's made me more confused! It just said they weren't relevant to Oz requirement! I haven't contacted them, was a bit too upset to do earlier but will definitely reconsider! I have 4 years at uni and way more than the 45 days. They only thing I didn't include was my work experience since qualifying, as I am not in a position to tell my employer, which is a good job I didn't with a negative assessment but on the other don't know if that went against me? To fight it is the same price as reapplying for primary! I just don't know what to do arghh!!
  2. Hey! Thanks for all the help, but unfortunately we have fallen at the first hurdle - AITSL have said my quals are not recognised! I'm gutted. We now have 2 options - redo for primary teacher and go for state nominated visa or look somewhere else altogether! I'm just so glad I didnt sign up with a immigration agent or it would of been a very expensive set back. Good luck everyone and thank you again for all your advice and support - its been very much appreciated! Selina, if you know mind me asking what are your qualifications? I have a BA Hon Early Childhood Studies with Practitioner Option and Lower Primary PGCE (3-8). My husband says I should fight it but I'm not sure its worth the hassle! x
  3. Hello! Hope all is going well with everyone applications! My AITSL should be back any day now (so nervous) and I have my IELTS booked for next week so hopefully will get the EOI all in within the next month! Could anyone help shed some light on the health checks please - I am unsure if I get these done before I do the EOI or after if I get invited to apply? Thanks SOJ
  4. Brilliant news! I got my email 3 weeks ago to say it had arrived. Feeling more positive knowing yours has come back successful! Good luck with the next steps! Xx
  5. Hi I did 3-7 PGCE and it doesn't actually say that on any certificates, and you will be qualified in the UK to teach 3-11 anyway so that's not a problem. It will only be the placement you do that differ from the 5-11 PGCE and I would say try get a nursery placement for your EYFS part as this will help show experience with the younger ones. I have sent my stuff off this week to get assessed so keep you posted!
  6. Wow its so confusing! It makes no sense how potentially AITSL could say your a ECT, the state recognise it, be granted a visa but then ACECQA say no your a ECE! Don't understand how it would be possible to be a ECT unless your train in Australia! Please keep me updated, as I think I might wait to see what outcome you guys get before I start! Good luck and thank you for sharing your experiences - its really reassuring to know others are as confused as me!
  7. Thanks for your reply! It's so bloody stupid! I have 0-2 experience with my Early Childhood Studies degree, had a 20 day placement and also have the work experience after my degree, before I did my PGCE but worried it not going to count! Yes please keep me posted! Good luck with it all!
  8. Thank you! I asked uni to include this so fingers crossed they will! Just got to wait for them to get back to me! Think I will be doing a lot of waiting in the next few months! Good luck with your assessment!
  9. Thank you! Can you register to teach in more than one state?
  10. Wow - this thread is amazing! Learnt so much! So nice to read good, honest advice - had some very misleading advice from agents! We are at the very beginning of the process, gathering everything for my AITSL. Just a couple of questions if anyone can help - I'm hoping to be the lead applicant as a Early Years Teacher (Early Childhood Degree and 3-8 PGCE) as its on the SOL, my husband is a primary teacher so does he need to apply for a AITSL or not? Would he just apply to the state? Also we would love to go Sydney or Melbourne - can we apply for both states or just one? Thanks in advance!
  11. I have just read this and now I am very nervous! I have did BA (Hons) Early Childhood studies with Practitioner Option (3 year course), finished in 2009 and then did 3-8 PGCE (1 year ) in 2012. I currently work as a Nursery Teacher in a school here (Know I wouldn't get a job with the school holidays in Australia but hoping life in general will be better!). My husband is also a primary teacher but as Early Years Teacher is on the SOL, I am planning as going as the lead applicant. We are just starting this process so want to make sure I am doing it right! Today I have contacted both my Unis to get placement transcripts as I have no idea where must my uni files have gone! Please can you keep me updated on your progress! Also at what point to you register with the state - before or after you apply for the Visa?
