  1. Im not sure, that's why I'm asking the question!
  2. hi, we have received another quote, we had to give size of dog, from nose to tail, and to tip of ears tall, the quote has come in at $1790 per dog, including quarantine. The only cost outside this, is the jabs and blood test etc........ The company is Airpets based in UK. There is only one quarantine station in Oz now, and that's Melbourne, so if you are living anywhere else, there would be another transport cost on top. Hope this helps.
  3. MarkShinn I'm interested in what pointers you get also, looking at this area when we arrive also, so some nice areas, be interested to find out how much a 4 bed house would be to rent in these areas also, cheers
  4. Hi folks, what's the good bad points about renting when you first arrived in Oz, what did you do? Rented fully furnished? Rented part furnished? Deposit, how much did you pay? I've heard of full 6 months up front? What is the average cost for a 4-5 bed with garage? How do you go about organising from the UK? Is there a list you need to be on with agents? I've heard of people going into holiday let's for a few weeks whilst looking? We have two dogs also, is the frowned upon? what do I need to look out for? Thanks for your help, don't know what I would do without this site!! :-)
  5. We got a quote from PerAir over the phone from UK, I think we rang the number from the Australia Magazine.

  13. Hi All, I need your urgent guidance. My partner is Australian and we live in the UK, we have 4 children that are all Australian Citizens, the eldest 14yr old boy has been turned down for a Passport due to he needs his fathers consent. My stepson decided he did not want to have anything to do with his father, and refused to see him because of his behaviour during his 18 months in hospital. He did it officially through doctors/psychologist reports through custody battles in court, that was 2yrs ago, his father has not contacted him since, not even Birthday or Christmas. I need to know what actions I need to do to grant permission to apply and move to Australia, I am myself currently going through the Partner Visa process, on target for March 2016, and we all want to move on my visa approval date. His father is the kind of person that would fight it for the hell of it, just so he could brag at the pub that he did all he could, he spent £25k on a divorce that could have been completed amicably. We were advised by the passport office this week, that because all the children are now Australia Citizens, our eldest would not be able to enter Australia on his English/UK passport to live permanently, if he was not granted an Australian Passport due to issues with consent from his father. Any help you can give would be much appreciated. Cheers MT
  14. Hi Iron Chef, i have a 1972 VW Campervan T2 and a 2003 Honda VTR SP2 bike that I wish to bring over, the camper has an insurance value in the UK for £20k and the bike is worth around £6k. On the valuation done in Aus, I am wondering if it is worth it, are the Aus values less, could I save myself the costs and hassle and buy once in Australia?? cheers MT
  15. What's your Top 5 things you had wished you had done before arriving in Australia from the UK? Cheers MT
  16. Hello all, I'm new to this forum, so hello to all. i am going through the partner visa process as we speak, and I am looking into what the costs would be for the shipping of my two vehicles:-) 2003 Honda VTR SP2 motorbike. 1972 VW Westfalia Continental Late Bay Campervan. I have been advised that there is a VAT or import duty/tax on top of the shipping costs, and reading into some information on the web, it depends on how old the vehicles are also? thanks for your help in advance. cheers MT
