  1. Hi everybody, I just wanted to share our good news with you. Our visa was approved yesterday at 6.22 pm. Here is our timeline: Nomination lodged: 28th September 2014 ENS application: 28th October 2014 (complete with Medicals and PCC) Nomination granted: 19th February 2015 Visa approved: 11th March 2015 The visa was processed in Perth (not sure if that matters) and we did not receive any contact from the CO until grant. High risk country, no MA. Occupation: Cook. No kids, only my partner (who is the main applicatant) and myself. Thank you all for this forum and sharing your experiences - it has absolutely helped us get through these last few months. Good luck to all who are still waiting and keep those fingers crossed.
  2. Hi thelaurakate, We placed our visa application 1 month after the nomination. Technically, you don't have to wait to submit your application until the nomination is approved. You can (and a lot of people do) even submit your application on the same day as your nomination or any time after that. But I know that some people choose to wait until the nomination is approved for a number of different reasons. Such as, they don't want to risk the hefty application fees in the case of the nomination is refused. Or they are not in a rush and don't mind waiting a little longer. We decided not to wait. One of the reasons was that our visa was about to expire at the end of November and we had to apply to get a bridging visa. Also, my partner's work have sponsored a number of people in the past and they were submitting another 457 visa at the same time with our 186, so we didn't really have any reason to worry about the outcome and losing our application fees. And, we just didn't wanna wait 4+ months for nomination and then another 4+ months for our PR. In hindsight, I wish we'd applied on the same day as our nomination - the waiting is killing me! We didn't use a MA and we are in Victoria, in case you're wondering.
  3. Our nomination was approved today. Applied on 28/09/2014. I will update the details on the spreadsheet. Now fingers crossed for a speedy visa approval. Nothing left to do but wait...
  4. I believe you need to upload the requested documents on your immi account and you don't need to notify your CO on email (although, if you do it probably wouldn't hurt). Once you do that I think the CO will check them after 28 days. But I have seen visas being approved within a week of uploading requested documents.
  5. Nope not yet. That's the news I'm waiting for. (or any news really!!) I applied about a month after the nomination was lodged. So once that's approved, more waiting for me... Probably another month or so. I just need to see something moving along. There has been no communication/status changes or anything (same with nomination). I guess when I was reading this forum before, I kind of thought that it will be all done in 4 months (the processing times seemed so much quicker then) but looks like it is going to be closer to 6 months.
  6. Hey AdyG. Yes I've applied in Melbourne and I was also under the impression NSW is moving a lot faster than VIC... I'm just hoping there'll be some news next week.
  7. Hi guys, Any idea on how long it takes for the Employer Nomination to be approved? My partner's employers applied on 28 September 2014 and called immigration today and were told that their file weren't allocated to a CO yet. It has already been more than 4 months and if they ask for more documents, I am afraid that our case will take even longer. Anybody on the same boat? I am just wondering how long it will be.., it shouldn't be too long maybe a few more weeks but I suppose we can't be sure.
  8. Hi everybody, I've been reading this forum since July and thought it was time to join. Congrats to everyone who has their visas granted and good luck to all of us still waiting. It is a shame that applications have slowed down a bit. Here are my details and I will add them to the spreadsheet. Nomination lodged: 28 September 2014 Nomination grant: waiting (still no contact) Application lodged: 28 October 2014 with police check and medicals Application grant: waiting... (no contact or status change as yet) High-risk country No CO It's great seeing a few October applications approved! Hopefully it won't be too long now.
