  1. Just wondering how long people were waiting before their application status went from "processing - we will contact you" to assigned to a case officer /team ? my nomination was completed by work so I didn't get to stalk it in ImmiAccount. I only went for my medical yesterday so I wasn't expecting it to be assigned before that. Need to get another bridging visa at the end of the month and trying to ascertain if I will I have a case officer beforehand - I lodged on 24 Jan 2015.
  2. Wilberdoo - similar to me - nomination lodged 28/08 we must be in the same office! I've no oversight on mine tho as company's MA handling the nomination.
  3. My nomination was lodged last August (28/8/2014) we lodged our application in January prior to current visa expiry, we were trying to wait until we had an approved nomination rather than risking the application fees but time wasn't on our side!
  4. I've been offline for a few weeks (went home on holiday) but back to work today and received an email from the MA to advise DIBP have finally made contact and requested confirmation of the 2 years work for me - she has responded and expects the nomination (which was lodged on 28/8/2014) to be approved shortly as no other queries were raised!
  5. Well the doozie was a girl in there lodging a complaint on the phone (after substantial time at the counter) the gist I got was - she had lodged her PR application (457 transition) and then left the country (sick parent) without realising she couldn't travel on a BVA - she said DIBP should have told her that - I don't necessarily agree as its on the BVA but here's the best part.. Anyways, when overseas she realised she had no valid visa - i think she got refused onto her flight as she had no visa! - and called DIBP who told her to get a 3 month holiday visa - (noting she has a full time job here) and come back to Oz on that and "sort it out" in the country. Now she can't get work rights as she's on a holiday visa, not a substanative visa, and she was due back to school as a teacher today..... she can't get the last bit of documentation to DIBP until next week so DIBP can't finalise her PR application - even though they have indicated once we get the last doc it will be approved... I was tempted to ask her when she lodged it but she didn't get off the phone before i left (45 mins later).... Moral of the story - read your visa conditions!!
  6. so tomorrow will be 5 calendar months from lodging my nomination (!!!) so hopefully its the day! I'm not sure if the turnaround time is 5 or 6 months for low risk? My manager has requested our MA follow up today regardless of what the circulars are saying. I can't see if the others waiting as long as me have had any contact or not though... We've bit the bullet and lodged our application over the weekend couldn't hold off any longer as we need to travel Friday so had to get it in before we left Oz! I was in the DIBP office this morning and overheard some other woeful visa tales while waiting so I'm thankful that I'm not in their boats either!
  7. Wondering where my nomination is now.... getting that bad feeling in the pit of my stomach....
  8. Yes others have indicated I'll mess up the nomination for the MA if I import it and don't feel like getting on their bad side so I think I'll leave it - my manager also contacted the MA herself as she's a bit fed up waiting and I couldn't give her a definitive answer - she didn't get any more info than what's here and we already knew... My 457 is up in 4 weeks and we go overseas in 10 days - we had hoped for an answer on nomination before lodging our application... looks like that won't happen now! Stressed.......
  9. Hi Byron this thread is related to 186 applications - in my opinion it would confuse people to have 187 on there too - overload of info they should make their own and I understand RSMS get priority over ENS.
  10. Thank you for confirming! Yes you can book before with My Health Declarations on ImmiAccount.
  11. Bit of a random question hoping someone on here knows the answer - Can anyone tell me if you have to book/pay for your medicals at the time you lodge the 186 visa application or can you book it a week or two later? I'm applying in Australia....
  12. currently living in Melbourne - you're missing out! ah no, I'm biased living here 6 years now....
  13. Feel slightly better now - did JS get a document request though which means someone has at least looked at his file! No its the MAs account or else it would be my employer's as its their application - my company sponsors lots of people so I thought it would be easy peasy - however never my position before and I'm the only one doing this job in my company...
  14. Thanks for updating the spreadsheet but its made me realise I'm the only nomination from August not yet approved!! Sweating! Is there any way to check the status yourself without asking the MA? She is engaged by my work and she fobbed me off last week.....
