  1. I called immigration today, and she told me that they are currently on the end of March and some from the beginning of April. She said they have a huge workload, and June may take some time to be allocated, but couldn't give a timeframe.
  2. Here is a funny one for all you guys desperately waiting for that seems elusive 187 visa. I have been checking my immi account several times per day for the last few weeks, and today I logged on to see what everyone is waiting for from "received" to "finalised" Naturally, jumping up and down, heart beating fast, and popping open the champagne. Phoned the Wife, who is currently on the East Coast, got her all excited (an amazing feeling knowing that we will no longer have to pay $700 per week in childcare). Read the Grant letter........realised i'd logged into my 457 visa account! logged back in - 187 visa - "application received" Back down to earth with a huge bump! Hold out guys, theres a lot of us in the same boat......gutted!! visa and nomination applied 30th June Low risk country 3 persons occupation: Head Chef
  3. hi there, If you have applied for your RSMS (187 visa), you should have received a bridging visa A, so when your 457 visa expires, this will allow you to stay in Australia until your RSMS is granted. Im not sure wether this will give you the work rights that you are currently on with your 457 visa (could someone chirp in here?). It looks like they are taking between 6 and 9 months for 187 visas to be processed, and they are currently looking at visas lodged in early February, so should be within the next 4 months (this is just a guideline). I applied a couple of days after you and am expecting to get my visa by March at the latest(fingers crossed). If you cant get the work rights, I would be saving your $$$$ now and taking a couple of months holiday (around Australia, as the BVA will not allow you to re-enter Australia). Hope this helps, and good luck.
  4. Hi guys, My Ma lodged my RCB, nomination and visa at the same time. When I log into immi website, it says application received. Would it be possible or how would I know that my nomination has been approved, would it say this somewhere or would I have to ask my ma? Many thanks
  5. Many thanks for your response I was under the impression that chefs were state priority 2 in WA, which is where I am applying from. I am applying direct as I didn't quite have my 2 years employment down with this particular employer in order to transition from my 457. Would you know if these factors have any bearing on the speed of my application being granted? Thank you
  6. Hi guys, new to this forum, but very interesting to see what is happening with other peoples visa progress. I applied for RCB, nomination and lodged at the same time on 30/06/16 LR country 187 direct entry as a chef 3 people, myself, my wife and son I was just wondering if any of you guys currently know how long its taking for visas to be processed and granted (fingers crossed), should all documents be uploaded correctly. is there any randomness involved in selections to be processed or is it a pretty fixed timeline, and can you get a gauge on when your time to be "called" is pending. Many thanks for your time
