  1. Hey guys, My Nomination was approved today, however my visa application got stuck as IMMI needs my wife's medical done, but BUPA refuses to finalize that because we don't want to go through a chest x-Ray, as my wife is 7 months pregnant now. Guess will have to wait for another 2-3 months for the visa. Good luck to everyone else, cheers
  2. Hi Bella Do you know which documents have been requested and when was the case officer assigned? My HR told me that they received a word from IMMI last week that the nomination was allocated and if more documents are required an officer will get I touch within 7 days, nothing yet, which I think should be a good sign. Cheers
  3. Just called immi helpline, was told "Graciously" that the service standard is 6 months and my application is still within that timeframe so wait for another 2 months (before calling us).
  4. Hey guys, my nomination and visa were lodged on 20-Nov, my company HR sent out an e-mail to IMMI to check the status and have been informed that my nomination has been allocated this week to a team for review and that if more documents are required then a case officer will get in-touch within 7 days. No other details regarding which team, location are provided. Hoping for the best..cheers!!
  5. I don't think you can cancel the insurance as that is required for 457 which you still hold (if applying under TRT). But yes you can definitely get the Medicare (interim valid for 1 year or if visa is rejected whichever is earlier)
  6. That is correct, I filed my application in November and got the Medicare in December (getting an appointment in the city is difficult), you need to take the passport, filled in form and the visa submission acknowledgement from IMMI to the Medicare office. They will provide the number on the spot. However be careful about cancelling your insurance, as that is a mandatory requirement for 457 and as you are still technically on 457 you need to maintain the insurance cover. This will also help you to apply for Medicare levy exemption when you file tax for this year. Check with your accountant.
  7. Hi Nicolo I already had an IELTS score, so just attached the same one!! Cheers
  8. If you look at the number of approvals granted yesterday, it seems they finalise most of the applications on Thursdays. After allocation, it is a 7 day process (as per a previous post where the poster claimed he spoke to IMMI and they confirmed this), so probably they allocate the apps In lots every Friday and approve by next Thursday with some exception cases lingering on to other days!! In the absence of any hard evidence, we can just speculate
  9. Hey guys, a question for all with visas granted or already been contacted by IMMI: when you r application was allocated to a CO or a Team as they do these days, did you receive any form of communication from the department informing that your app has now been allocated. I understand that if you applied through an MA, such a communication may have gone to him, but for all those who applied directly was there any such mail in your inbox?
  10. Congrats Gem!! It seems you have been processed by the small team working on the new system. It also means this team is not only processing applications lodged after 22nd Nov when the new system was implemented but also picking random applications from before that. Enjoy your time in Australia, Cheers
  11. Probably something to do with this!! http://migrationalliance.com.au/immigration-daily-news/entry/2015-01-dozens-of-top-dibp-senior-managers-and-some-100-middle-managers-to-get-the-sack-in-february.html
  12. Try out this link, look at Table 8 and the "Permanent employer-sponsored visa programmes" section just below table 7. http://www.immi.gov.au/about/reports/annual/2013-14/performance/outcome_1/economic_migration.htm#tab_007
  13. Hi pks, Please refer this sheet and add your entry as well, please update whenever there is any news on your visa: http://bit.ly/1Gfs4qI
  14. Hi, the nomination application needs to be shared with you by your company or MA, see the post below of how this can be done. Cheers
  15. and what a celebration it would be..keeping in view that probably we are the most unlucky ones, given the new system was implemented just a couple of days after we put in our apps, stay put!!
  16. Well...I took the liberty to update it, and don't worry about looking at number ticking by every day...all of us waiting for sure do it as well...even the ones who just applied, I'm sure Cheers
  17. I wondered the same when my HR shared the application with me, I even uploaded some of the docs (my payslips, etc) to the nomination application. All of those docs went to Received - The company did nominate me to communicate with IMMI on their behalf, so I don't think this should be an issue. Of course you can't download and see the documents that are already uploaded so sensitive information should still be secure (other than the one on the nomination application which we can see).
  18. Hey I remember you, you use to post in saaustralia- is that right, hope you get your approval soon!!! Cheers
  19. Hi Vihaan, you mean your nomination was lodged on 21st above and its approved...that's fast, congrats!! Mine was lodged on 20th and it seems there is a long way to go. Good luck for the application, cheers
  20. I lodged just 2 days before the new system, this means my app will be processed after everyone including the ones who lodged after 2 days when the new system went live ( Suppose everyone who lodged in November just before the new system will be disappointed.
