  1. Free free free?? Yeah! Have you forgotten how BAD BAD BAD your free healthcare is???? I know people who died because of the careless NHS!! Not even to mention my own experiences that are way to many to list !!! But if your someone who enjoys living of other people working than so be it! Enjoy your free dental ( that the next person has paid for) and enjoy the Grimm weather that goes with your freebies !! I'd rather pay my own way and enjoy a walk along the beach---- minus the rain and the grey clouds
  2. OMG !!!! Too much taxes? Bad drivers?? Racists??? You are kidding!!!!! I mean ok maybe you get racists over there, BUT you sure as he'll get them here in the UK!!! Bad drivers, yeah freaking idiots on the road!!! Too much taxes, you'd only moan about that if you was a scum bag benefit acro inches and don't know how many taxes are there to pay in the UK!!! I for one cannot afford to work here! Yeah! I cannot afford the childcare to be able to go and work! So only my husband works and with all the bloody taxes, national insurance , council tax and so on we have not got a lot left! And on top of that , the weather in the UK is probably the worst in WORLD!! I have never seen a more miserable bunch than English people!!!! I mean crack a smile mate, oh right you can't you moody nation your country is **** the weather is **** and you are surrounded by immigrants , temples , mosques and currys!! English?? Where what??? So basically all your lame points are no points as you have bad points in most countries, your just at a loss coz you paid **** loads of money to get to Australia only to realise that it's you that can't be happy! Not the country! Gutted! Spend more money to get back home and be miserable with the rest of the moodys!!!!!!!! See ya!
  3. Still nothing here, it is the weekend though. And if course they had to have system maintenance while we're waiting for our grant!!!
  4. Hi, yeah it should be any day now , but we're so inpatient lol !! We have an agent so she deals directly with case officer I just check account everyday hoping status has changed ... I guess all I can do is wait, it has been only 4 days.... But they seem like a lifetime! Just wanting that grant so then we can finally book flights and get the rest organised! Whats every1 doing for getting organised? I mean what's first on the list... Book flights, book container , accommodation for arrival, banks, money transfer?? I'm a bit lost and overwhelmed with what to do first
  5. Hello we are planning to move to Brisbane - Sunshine Coast in February 2015. I'm really a bit clueless on the whole moving money situation. If I didn't have much I wouldn't really worry and just open a bank acc when I get there! But I have quite a bit of money in my bank ( inheritance) and I don't know where to start ????? :chatterbox:
  6. So , we are still waiting!! It's driving me insane!!! We had our medical's front loaded and in the process of obtaining PCC then got allocated a case officer on the 10th Nov and they requested PCC , we uploaded the PCC on 17th Nov and no word yet..... Ahhhh can't wait any longer ...
  7. OMG September lodgers are given grants already? UK police reports arrived today, just editing on mine from India and then .... Come on !!!!! Can't wait!!
  8. Hi cagsy, so yes if it shows as application submitted and fees paid then you have definitely submitted! So you are fine in regards to the invitation time frame. Now all you do is wait I'm afraid. The medical's will be uploaded by the doctor himself , so nothing for you to do. Then you wait some more to be assigned a case officer! My agent has told us it takes 10-12 weeks to be assigned a case officer. That is 10-12 weeks from the time you have submitted application. But reading the August lodged thread....... People are assigned CO or straight grants within 2 months!!!!! That's pretty quick! Oh yeah if like you , you have front loaded all necessary docs including PCC And medical's you should be looking at a straight grant !!!! Good luck
  9. hello, please please go ahead and submitt your ur application right away!!!!! You upload all necessary docs after and take as long as you want!!!!
  10. Oh ok! Don't know about the getting up earlier , but I'm loving the finish so early. Lots of time after work to do stuff, like chill on the beach hopefully! Thanks Ausborn
  11. Also what are the hours brickies are working over there? Is it a real early start - early finish?
  12. Hi, glad to hear that Bricklayers are in demand right now. What is a subbie tho?? $600 a day sounds good haha!
  13. Ok ... Since no one has answered this thread, yet hundreds of peeps have looked at it, here it goes. Someones uncle who is a bricklayer and lives in Brisbane says $35 an hour @ 8 hours a day! He however works in the mines 10 days on 4 days off , earning $500 a day!!! Also an option for someone who can bear to be away for that long.....
  14. Omg!! Early November??? Bring it on!! Can I just say , we did our medical's on the 8th October and still showing as " recommended" on the immi account???? When will it change to received??? Police checks have been sent off for, including one from India, which I hope won't take long. how long has have your police checks taken?
  15. If you have a passport from Canada, America or United Kingdom you do not need an IELTS test as your passport is proof of sufficient English . Anyone who's partner will be under their application and is not from those countries has to do an IELTS test ( like me , I'm german) but you only have to get something like 4 in each category or something , which is pretty easy
  16. hi hi my hubby also a Bricky, he did do bricklaying at college but never finished , I think he only did a year out of 3 !! Then he learned on site, same as ur OH that's just how a lot of them do it! So we did all our References as such our selfs and then got companies and/or Forman's to print on headed paper and sign! The reference about my hubby learning on site was about 6 pages!!! Very detailed , but that's what they want! If the company is no longer , I suggest you write it all out and make it a self declaration!! I can have a look to see if I got some templates if you like? Pm me and let me know, good luck
  17. So my other half is a Bricky and we will be Brisbane bound in Feb 2015. I'm trying to get organised ...but I can't calculate anything as I don't know how much my husband would be earning... Anyone know bricklayer wages, and hours?? This would help a lot !!!
  18. Hiya, can I ask what are Bricklayers being paid out there at the moment? Although we will be going to Brisbane , still good just to get an idea. Also what hours to Brickys work out there? Thanks any info would help.
  19. I don't think so. They go by whatever was issued earliest, in your case PCC. So you now have 1 year to get out there!! Which is plenty of time! Even in worst case scenario , and u don't get a visa until say.... Jan or fen you still have 6 months to get over there! I would just go ahead and do medical's, then once CO appointed you will just get a straight visa grant, rather then the CO requesting stuff... I think that's what we will do
  20. The reason our agents are advising us on waiting for CO to request medical's is because you will have 1 year from when medical and PC is issued to validate your visa. So just in case something takes longer in the grant of your visa, the time for validating would be ticking
  21. How is everyone sorting rentals from here??? My husband won't actually have work till we get out there and he can find work, so I didn't even think of being able to secure a rental from here other than holiday accommodation .....
  22. How much are cubes???? Just had a few quotes for what we would be taking ( 4 seater sofa, footstool, wingback armchair, footstool, coffee table, 2 bicycles, and roughly 20 boxes) for a shared container, and quotes all around the £1.100 - £1.300 mark!! Which is not bad!! But what about a cube???

  24. Same as us we lodged on the 6th Sep. haven't done medical's or police checks yet, looks like most people just do them before...... Might just do that and go for the straight grant!! What's everyone doing for housing/accommodation??? Can you secure rental from here?
