  1. Thought I'd join in here too!! I am nearly there now. Original plan was that we were going because I should get a nursing job relatively easily!!! However I am one of those unfortunate ones that has a diploma , because that was the course mostly available 16yrs ago!! Anyway I did IELTS in jan this year then applied for my skills assessment. I am glad I did it this way because the ANMAC took 16 weeks to send me my LOD and I obviously couldn't submit an EOI until I had this. If I'd have waited to get my registration first then I never would have got my visa as it appears I prob won't ever get registered anyway!!! Well I now have my visa (all done myself with no agent. Very proud of myself!!!) and will be moving to Brisbane in January 2015 with my OH and 2 kids. What job I end up doing remains to be seen, maybe a change of career is what I need along with my new life!!! Anyway, good luck to everybody
  2. I front loaded 10 yrs of P60's and the last few months payslips for this year. Not sure if this was a bit too many but I was claiming points for experience so wanted them to see I'd been with the same employer !
  3. Hi Eagle656, thanks. I uploaded all colour originals, had nothing certified. Uploaded what seemed like hundreds of things at the time!! But essentially was just what they asked for. Passport, birth cert, marriage cert, work reference, photo, skills assessment info. Basically just what was on there list, no more, no less!! Haven't got a job yet as waiting for nursing registration from AHPRA but this could take forever and will prob end up doing a bridging course so may apply for something completely different!
  4. Went on a reccie in feb staying with friends in Perth and Brisbane. We absolutely loved Perth but have decided on Brisbane as I felt it had more to offer my kids. I worried about my kids growing up and wanting a night out and having to travel into the city by train as we wouldn't be able to afford to live close to the city!! Also wanted to be able to visit other parts of australia without a 4 1/2 hour plane journey!! Anyway will see what happens when we get there. Planning on going to Goa in December on the way (my husband is from there so will be visiting his family) and then onto Brisbane in January for the start of the school year.
  5. Congratulations Daviptch. Isn't it a great feeling when u c that email. I couldn't stop smiling all day. Now my days of waiting have been replaced with days of worrying about selling stuff in the house etc, and organising shipping companies and omg the list is endless!! But it will all b worth it! When and where u heading to?
  6. Go to http://www.acro.police.uk, they do the police certs for uk. Think it cost £40 per adult. They came through in a week although they stated a 2 week processing time!
  7. I didn't have any of my documents certified just scanned them in in colour and uploaded them. Have received my visa grant with no problems. Hope this helps.
  8. Fingers crossed for you, I'm sure you'll have it any day now!!! I just gotta wait for AHPRA to sort my nursing registration now!!! Could be waiting a long time!! Whatever happens I will be out of the UK by xmas!!
  9. Yep lodged 28th July and didn't do medicals til 12th august. Can't believe its come through already, thought it would be at least another couple of weeks!! Anyway looking at your timeline its gotta happen soon for you, we only applied a few days apart.

    ID for AHPRA

I have applied to APHRA waiting to here back at the moment. Although I have heard from them re my ID. They wanted it recertified as I had used a solicitor not a notary!!! ANyway all I had provided was my british passport and marriage cert and they didn't mention there was a problem except for the signature.
  12. We used APEX too. Had no problems with them and they were def cheapest around at the time.
  13. Congratulations Nareendra. Hope they carry on processing them nice and quick, the waiting is killing me!!!!
  14. We flew emirates in feb with a 5 and 10 yr old. Thought it was one of the best airlines I have ever used. Had loads of freebies for kids including child size headphones, backpack, wallet, cards, seat belt soft toy etc. Didn't feel cramped. In fact on one leg we had 3 rows of seats to ourselves (couldn't ask for more!!!!). Good selection of films and games. Food was great and good kids selection too. Can't compare it to Singapore Airlines though as have never used them.
  15. Hi, I am another newbie to this thread although been reading it alongside the June gang for a while. I lodged my application on 28th July. Frontloaded all docs except medicals which were done on 12th Aug. Trying to wait patiently now!!!!
