  1. Hi nickystar, you need the form 80 I'm afraid as its an integral part of the 189. It is a pain to do but needed. Feels like you have already filled the same info in but you do need to complete it.
  2. Hi Debbieashley, sorry for the late reply. It is me who is the DT teacher and I teach Graphic Products, Product Design and Resistant Materials. I decided on NSW for family amongst other regions but am using it as a starting point and going from there. I've heard mixed reviews about coming out to teach but on the whole good comments and positive ones at that. I'll turn my hand to most things though if I can't teach so there is no real problem as long as you have a good outlook I suppose.
  3. Hi to all teachers. Both myself and girlfriend are moving out to Sydney in September and are both teachers. I'm currently a HOD in Design and Technology and she is a KS4 co-ordinator in English. I have registered with Smart, Hays and look daily on teachers on net, TES Australia, NSW government site and any others I know of too. Most applications I have not heard back from so maybe I'm doing something wrong?? Any ideas or thoughts would be appreciated and any I can give I will do happily. Cheers
  4. I found the cost completely outweighed the process and I therefore did it myself. I am not saying they will not save you time and they definitely know the process back to front, but If your willing to put some time and effort in, and its just form filling mainly, then I would recommend doing it yourself and saving yourself the money as it is not that difficult and then you can use the saved money on buying more essentials for the move.
  5. I'm moving out to Sydney in Sept with my girlfriend on a 189 visa. Both of us are teachers, I am currently a HOD and she is KS4 co-ordinator for Design and Technology and English respectively. I was wondering if anyone has any information with regards to looking into jobs, speaking to schools etc to get sorted for either term 4 or certainly a job come the new school year in 2015. I have applied to many jobs but none have got back to me and I am presuming, albeit maybe naively, because I am not yet in the country. Is this the case and can anyone give any more help or advice. Thanks

  7. Hi, The medical was the last thing I did but the police check I did before and it was all fine. The whole process from start to finish took me 6 months to finish but it sounds like you have done the vast majority already seeing as you are now filling in the Visa application. When I applied it took them literally three days to get back to me with a visa but I have known others for it to take a couple of months so just be a little patient. Off in Sept.
