  1. To all my fellow exponents of the art of Patience

I would just like to wish all the "Parents in the Waiting Room" a Very Happy Christmas.

To all 2014 applicants, lets hope Santa brings the new year present of speedy completion.

Which would mean a VERY VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR indeed :xmas12: :xmas3::xmas4::xmas25::xmas1::xmas2::xmas7:

    Best wishes

    Phil

Thanks Phil, and a great Christmas and fab new year to you too. We've all been wearing out the seats in the waiting room that's for sure. Hopefully we're getting closer to the exit sign.

  2. Hi,

    Fairly new to POIA

I see no recent threads regarding parents?

I applied for mine in September - agent said it would take 18 months/ 2years, has anybody applied and got their visa any sooner.

    Thanks

    Welcome Mrs Bee

Lots of nice people here and lots of information. Take a seat in the waiting room and join us in the song 'IMMI get a wriggle on'

  3. Hi. Maisie. Can see you are about 7 weeks ahead of me so interested to hear when you get to case officer. We are going for 173 and didn't get any meds dates with our acknowledgement and as have no AOS this time around so am wondering if we will get 'pre-call' like HarleyPhil did last month as he is 143. Hi there, I'll definitely post when I hear anything and it can't come quick enough, my bum is going to sleep sat on these chairs in the waiting room

  4. Hi Phil

Wow now i'm really excited, running

    exactly 2 months behind you!

Hopefully in the early new year we should also get requests for medicals, police and a.o.s.

keep us all posted of your progress please, it's so reassuring for us all to hear from someone just in front of us in the dreaded queue.

If it helps with the calculations, we lodged on 9 April 2014 and were given our HAP ID at the time so there looks about 2 weeks difference, we were quite probably one of the last lot to receive them before they put a halt on them!

    Hope you hear soon

    Maisie xx

  5. Hi Steve

Thank goodness things are moving along. Wouldn't it be nice if IMMI could at least tell applicants if they are one of the 7175 allocation for year ending 30th June 15? At least we would have an idea if we are going to get our grant before or after 1st July.

I think I've aged 10 years with all the uncertainty and all the waiting  I'm hoping they're still working on about 22 months and would be ecstatic if they could reduce that date - one can only hope I suppose!

  6. Thanks for the update Steve.

Go immi, the guys are really on a roll. Hope they aren't watching the ashes as all the applications from the Brits will go back to the bottom of the pile. (If anyone from the parents visa dept read this we promise to cheer on the Aussies when you win them back in Oz.)

    Joe

    Really made me chuckle :-)

  7. Hi all in the waiting room

This mornings TEST email states that the waiting time for offshore 143 is 18 - 22 moths, currently assessing 11 Sep 13. It's moving along!

    Julie

Well that means they moved on 8 days in a week which is a big improvement on previous dates. Lets hope they double it next week. One can but hope!! :-)

  8. I look forward to the day when I see your whoooohoo on PIO, then I will put the champers on ice!!

    Petina

    Still around!

Hi Petina, Can't wait for the day we all clink glasses together  xx

As we've sold our house and moved we've not got access to the internet so we have to keep visiting the Garden Centre, the pub and friends houses to get online LOL - so I'm still around xxxxx

  9. Whooooohooooo!! Your bones are right Tabitha! Finally, at long last. Our son did phone the bank and all he was told was that it had been received and we knew that! Anyway, it is champagne tonight - the next one will be somewhere in Brizzie with Maisiedaisy, Vava and who ever else is around!!

Good luck everyone and will be in touch soon.

    Petina

That's fantastic Petina, I'd been looking for the wooohooo :-)

Lots and lots of congratulations to you, and as Joe says, please keep in touch and definitely meet up for a drink or two, or three or .....

  10. Hi Julie

Yes we're full of trepidation now we're on the market; wondering if we've done the right thing without the visa grant and what we'll do if we sell quickly.

I guess it's better to try and sell now rather than panic sell if/when we get our visas?

    Have a safe journey

    Steve

It's a no win situation Steve, sell your house before you get the visa and worry about not being granted it or wait until you get the visa and be possibly stuck here waiting to sell for a couple of years like our poor Vava! At least with selling first the money is in the bank and if the worst comes to the worst you can always buy again but hopefully it wont come to that. We've sold and are just waiting for our completion date but we had been on the market for 14 months before we got an offer.

  11. Hi everybody! I got an acknowledgement email today for my 143! This seems rather soon as I only applied 10days ago! They haven't taken any money yet! I notice payment is usually taken first....??? They are saying it is taking approximately 24 months to process.

That's great Karen, now it's a case of just sit and wait !

    24 months!!! Urghhhhh!
