Too spooky @maisiedaisy. I have just read out @Fisher1 email to my husband and we are in stitches - especially the 'cunning disguised as' - we have encountered that so many time here in oz!!! After my rather unexpected response from immi yesterday I am seeing this as the start of our roll towards CO Day and starts with you today - I feel it in my bones - or could be touch of arthritis - let's hope not - go maisie go Kim
if only Kim! Waiting for our visas is like being in one of those reality endurance programs on the telly except we're paying for it and we don't get to eat any animals wotsits!

Well done Kim! Just show it never hurts to try.
We paid our second vac today. it went like this ....
Re - read the immi letter three times, just to make sure everything is clear.
Write out details - we have no printer.
Go to the bank.
Wait in queue
It is very hot.
Get bankers cheque
Immigration letter says you can use Billpay 'online, by post or in person.'
We go to Australia post in person.
Post office lady doesn't know about paying in person. She says you can only pay online.
It's still very hot.
We point out that the department of immigration and border control have told us we can pay this way.
Husband is sweating a bit now.
Post office lady is vague. "Aren't you on the internet then?"
We cite post office leaflet.
It says you can pay in person.
We just can't find the leaflet now.
Post office lady looks confused.
She wants the bill.
We have no printer, have hand written details.
She wants the bill.
We leave post office.
It's even more hot.
We have a cheque for 87,200 dollars in my handbag.
We are confused.
Husband is swearing a bit now.
We remember alternative post office.
Alternative post office man seems to know what he is doing.
He wants the letter,
We still have no printer.
Its even more hot.
Alternative post office man indicates large corner shop.
"They print," he says.
We cross the road.
It's still very hot.
Husband is sweating lots more now.
Very drippy.
Nice shop man shows us computer, cunningly disguised as an arrangement of washing up liquid.
Two dollars later we have the bill.
Back to alternative post office.
We wave the letter about.
Everyone smiles.
Alternative post office man hands over receipt.
"Welcome to Australia"
Nice cup of tea.
Fisher, you've made my day. Was sat here feeling depressed that we still haven't heard anything and started reading your post, started chuckling, read it out to hub and in fact I'm still laughing. So pleased you got it sorted

Hi Maisie
it's got to be next week for you......some lesser spotted CO is walking towards the waiting room door and calling your name, "Maisie, get ready to go"
fingers crossed
Julie
I'm on the edge of my seat Julie. I tried to shove my foot in the door as Fisher was leaving but wasn't quick enough!

Hi Val
our daughter who is our sponsor had to email IMMI with some changes this week. She took the liberty of asking them how long it was going to be before we were processed. Interestingly enough this morning she got an email back from IMMI stating that the current processing time from lodgement is 23 months and they quoted the Test email dateof 4 April 14. So fingers crossed that they stay on or before 23 months!!
Julie
23 months was up 3 days ago for us

Hi all
second vac requested today!
We are now onshore as we arrived for our holiday yesterday, (rubbish timing, but then you'd need a crystal ball) so we have to leave before they can issue the visa.
For anyone in the same position, we have been told that we must leave Australia within 28 days of receiving the email, but this can be for a short period, like Dolphin going to Bali. If we are going for a short period, we must scan a copy of our travel plans to immi within the next seven days. They also say we need to allow three working days for the issue of the visa.
to be on the safe side, we are planning to go on a Sunday and return on a Saturday ... which will give them five working days.
Hope this is if some use to someone, and that it means the queue has moved forward a bit for the rest of you.
Yay many congratulations to you, always good and encouraging for us still keeping the seats warm in the waiting room, have a wonderful life

Hi Harvi and everyone else
Visa status is GRANTED as of 30 minutes ago. We are now partying in Bali and so relieved that we will be allowed back in on Sat. Can't tell you how stressful these last few weeks have been. Well you all know about stress. The grant came in an email and is attached electronically to our passports. Well let's hope so or we will be in a pickle on Sat. Hope all you April lodgers have everything ready and they are very poor at communicating they did not acknowledge receipt of money which was nerve racking when you send it by mail. So be prepared to send them stuff and get no response but they are working slowly!!! Good luck to you all. Now to start applying for jobs and getting a mortgage as we no longer have enough money left to buy a house outright!
So very pleased for you  you must all be chuffed to bits. ...... and when you fly back in to Oz on Saturday you can have another party!
Lots of best wishes to you in your new life - enjoy!

We are currently assessing for finalization applications lodged up to 20 March 2014
Ladies and gentlemen the date has moved another week! Can't complain about the fact that immi is moving much faster than when the date was stuck on 13 Feb!
Doliphin1962 have your docs ready, I guess you have 10 days before they call out your name )
Cheers,
Nassim
Oh wow! That's a good move - I'd been doing my calculations based on them only moving 5 days so I'm well chuffed guess we're looking at the 2nd week in March

Hi all
have just received a terrifying / exciting email from immi requesting AOS letter from centre point, medicals, police checks and a scanned copy of form 80. We're going to book medicals today ( in the UK) and are wondering whether they all charge the same? The list gives addresses in Manchester and Birmingham which are both feasible for us, also we are in London for a week and there's an address in Knightsbridge. panicking a bit because it's all got to be done in 28 days. All / any tips and advice welcome. Thanks
Congratulations Fisher when was your lodgement date? Exciting times
Maisie

Whoop whoop Dolphin 1962 it won't be long and you will have your hand on that handle ready to fly out the waiting room door with the 'Angel' CO. Then next is Maisie Daisy I believe Kim
If only..........

Hi Kim,
Hope it is 27th Jan but think that may be too soon :-)
I'll have a little gamble on 20th Feb :jiggy:
Phil
Sincerely hope you're right because we lodged on 9 April so that would be good news!
maisie

Hi Julie,
I think it's probably worse given we have sold up and I left a good job. It's great spending time with the kids but it's always in the back of our minds that it could come crashing down if anything goes wrong with the medicals, but that was our choice and the risk we were prepared to take. How is the house selling coming along?
Joe
We're in the same boat as you Joe although we have had our medicals and are in Brisbane, hopefully there's an end in sight now, keep the faith x

Hi all
Auto reply today says they're now assessing for finalization 143's lodged 24 February 2014.
We're in Perth on holiday and its much better waiting in the sun than the cold.
Hurry up immi!!
Cheers
Steve
Thanks for that Steve, definitely good news that they've begun assessing again, you're sat in Perth, we're sat in Brisbane. It's worse than clock watching waiting for the dates to move on!
maisie
-
Hi Sadge
I'm not getting replies either - hopefully tomorrow!
They're probably still tucking into their mince pies etc!
Happy New Year to you and yours.
Steve
Maybe they're keeping quiet until the end of the day and then they're going to surprise us by moving on into March. I am confident that this is the case and everybody will be whooping and partying and jumping up and down as it moves us nearer to our dates ............ I also believe in little green men and pigs flying!!
-
Hi Bridgie
definitely psychological torture, we are all barking mad at 18 months into the process!
hoping to become sane again by June!
Julie
Where am I, what's my name? I am not a number!! sat rocking in a chair mumbling 143! 143! 143! Roll on April
