  1. Hi Joe and everyone else waiting for their parent visas in Oz

when you travelled out on your e651 or 600 did you buy a return ticket to Oz?

not sure if you can get in on a one way....

    Julie

    Hi Julie

When we came out in August on a 651 we got a return. There didn't appear to be an awful lot of difference in the price to be honest and I believe you have to have either a return flight or an onward ticket.

  2. Just thought I'd give an update now we've been residents a whole two weeks. We've actually been here since August and spent six months with our daughter and then spent the last three months in a holiday rental overlooking the water and watching the dolphins next week we move into a new rental for six months while we decide to rent for ever or to buy.

Went out at the weekend and bought new furniture, bed, chairs, sofa, table, fridge/freezer, washing machine, tv, vacuum, coffee table, lamp table, unit, saucepans, crockery, kettle, toaster, etc. Phew!!

Our twelve small boxes being looked after for us in the UK have now been collected and are making their journey to us.

We brought a car in August and now have Medicare cards, drivers licences and tax numbers (well hub has his tax number but mine is still to put in an appearance).

Letters have been sent to all the relevant official place, ie tax and pensions.

We wake up in the morning to the sunshine, the sound of the waves lapping, the birds singing and our glimpses of the dolphins. Seeing our gorgeous grandkids and just being in the country we love.

For all those still in the waiting room, you will get there, it will happen, just keep the faith and if anyone is coming Brisbane way we can always meet for a drink

    Best wishes

  3. Hello can anyone that's in Australia on a e600 visitor visa, waiting for their CPV 143 visa case officer to make contact, know, if you have to have a police check from England and Australia as your in Australia.

Also does any one know if the medicals can be done in Australia.

    Lorraine

    Hi Lorraine

We had to have Oz police checks done because we had spent in total a year over the last 10 years in Australia. Adding up the days over the last 10 years, a month here, a month or two there. It soon adds up. I do believe you can get your medicals done in Oz too. I'm sure one or more of the lovely people on here will let you know if I'm wrong.

    Good luck

    Maisie

  4. I see you've gone Aussie already Maisie!!

For what's it's worth, I recall reading that you do not have to have a visa "label" put in your passport nowadays but can do if you're willing to pay extra for it but I don't know what the benefits would be.

    All the very best

    Steve

Thanks Steve. I went on to VEVO and there we are

    hi Maisie

Ive just read your mail and am having a bit of a panic - I didn't realise you had to get your visa stamped when you came back to Australia, I thought they would stamp something in the passport, and was a bit surprised when they didnt!! Since we had no access to a printer, we were just going to print out the paperwork when we got back to the UK - feel like a complete idiot.

I'm now assuming that if we don't get our visa stamped before we leave in two weeks, we'll have to come back again to get it stamped? Does anyone know how we can get our visa stamped before we leave?[/quote

Fisher, sorry!! I meant we got our passport stamped not our visa! Sorry for giving you heart failure duh!!!

  6. Hi Steve,

Thank you so much for suggestion. I sent two times email to ask them is it everything ok regarding payment. Usually my case officer answer very quickly, but now not respond. I don't know why. Even if there is not money they have to tell me. I have proof of posting. I used Billpay Code and Reference number which I got from them and I go on the internet postbillpay.com.au.

    Thank you very much.

    Hi

Have you tried to ring them as Steve suggested. I can imagine that it could be difficult to do that but as there have been no replies to your two emails I can't think of any other way to go.

I hope you hear from IMMI soon. Please let us know what happens.

  7. Hi all

Arrived today and now sat here in our hotel room in Wellington, NZ. My phone has just beeped and our Agents have emailed me to say we have been granted our 143 . So with an enormous Wooooohoooo!!!! Maisie has left the waiting room.

Good luck to all those still keeping the seats warm, hopefully you'll all get the email you've been waiting so long for really soon.

  8. Anybody got any idea on the criterion used as to whether IMMI ask for Form 80 or not? I've seen mention I think that some people have escaped this requirement.

    Hi Sadge

Not sure how they decide who does and who doesn't need to fill in the dreaded Form 80 but looking at most of the signatures on here I think we all have. Someone shout out if I'm wrong.

  9. Hi Steve

unfortunately the place we usually stay at in Mt Martha is also fully booked, not having a lot of luck at the moment

Sorry to hear that you may loose your land. These delays are so frustrating we have no control over anything.

think we are going to go to Spain for a couple of weeks, it's cheaper and with the exchange rate being so bad we need to economise and a trip off shore in Oz is not something we fancy shortly after a 24 hour flight to Oz.

I know it will all come right in the end but at the moment just having a bad day.

    Julie

Something will turn up Julie trust me. Just when you think nothing is happening, it all happens at once.

    Keep smiling nice lady

  10. Hi good people

Great big Woooohoooo!!!! Just had notification that PVC have received the final vac from us and will be granting our visa once we've left to go to NZ on Tuesday.

I've vacated my seat and I'm stood at the waiting room door with my foot in it ready to go. Shuffle up everyone  I'll let you all know when we get the word that it's done.

  11. Hi Linda,

I am using an agent - is this something that the agent will automatically do, get this number for the medical and the referral letter from IMMI?

    Sadge

    Hi Sadge

We also used an agent and were also one of the lucky ones to get all the AOS, police check info and HAP nos. With our acknowledgment. I believe your agents will send you all the relevant information when you get your case officer.

We had already had police checks both in the UK and Oz and we had our medicals completed because two years ago when we started all this that's how the process worked. It's such a shame you have to leave things now till last minute.

Hope things go well for you

    Maisie

  12. hi Steve

having exactly the same sort of day as you, loosing the will.....

I'd also be interested to hear if anyone has not had to go offshore once in Oz for visa grant. It would make our situation much more manageable.

Hang on in there, I think the weekends are always worse because we know no one is working on our applications.

    Julie

You keep smiling too Julie, we will all get there! Just a few more hoops to jump through and you'll be on your way

  13. Hi all

    Two questions on the 143.

I spoke to Australia House in London on Friday and during the conversation I mentioned that if we were in Australia on an e651 visa then we have to leave the country and go offshore for the 143 to be granted - the staff member said no we don't; has anyone had experience of this and confirm who's correct?

Also, if we are in Australia and do have to leave to activate the visa, do we have to do it together of can we do so separately? (it's all down to dog care issues with our family)

These things are a worry to us and feeling very stressed and feel like giving it all up today.

    Cheers

    Steve

    Hi Steve

I was always under the impression that if you applied off shore then you had to be off shore to get your visa. It would benefit us no end if we could stay and still get the visa granted but I'm sure you have to be off shore.

I'm not sure if you can do it separately either!

Lets hope there will be someone on here who has entered the country separately and can clarify that it can be done. Or when you get allocated your case officer you could ask them.

Don't give up Steve, it'll all come right in the end - keep smiling

  14. Hi everyone.....

We have our AOS acceptance letter today :jiggy:I can't believe it has only taken 2 days!! Wow!! Way to go Centrelink!!!!

So here is the timeline we had for those with the AOS still to do:

16.03.2016 Collected forms from Centrelink - I just went in and asked for the AOS forms.

    17.03.2016 Allocated Case Officer

18.03.2016 AOS form filled in and taken to Centrelink

04.04.2016 Letter (via post) from Centrelink requesting telephone interview, resulting in the request for a form

Correct form uploaded to Centrelink (if your AOS person has an account with them, then I believe they can do it that way too)

07.04.2016 Centrelink confirm upload had been received. Wait for letter to pay the bond

12.04.2016 Letter (via post) asking for the bond to be paid

13.04.2016 Bond paid at Commonwealth Bank - daughter spent an hour and a half in the bank as the teller had never done this before.

Took paperwork received from the Bank straight to Centrelink. They photocopied it and passed it to the processing team.

15.04.2016 Daughter received Acceptance letter by email via her Centrelink account

Maisie and Pete jumping up and down in our holiday rental :-)

    Hope that helps

Waiting now for the 2nd Vac request :-)))))

  15. Ah that's fine and yes I understood. Thank you for the email address you supplied. MIL emailed them and received her response, the reason she hasn't heard anything yet is because they'd got her email address wrong :arghh:

So she HAD had an email requesting all her documents (police and health checks) on the 18th of March. Lucky she did something now as she had 28 days from that email to submit everything.... 2 days to spare.

So, silly question, is it the case officer who requests the health checks police checks??

Thanks so much, you've been so helpful :)

    Hi there,

Wrong email address!!!! Arghhhhh! So frustrating.

Yes it should be as far as I know. The medical information is sent from the Dr you had your medical with straight through to IMMI so they should already have that.

I hope it all starts to move along quickly now for your Mum-in-law.

    Best wishes

  16. Hi all,

I know we need our HAP number to book our medicals and immi will be receiving a request for this shortly after Juliew1499 and Steve requests theirs. However I'm a little confused over the dreaded AOS process, do we get notification from immi or Centrelink to start the process, and what are the steps after that.

    Joe

    Hi Joe

When we got all the initial paperwork with our acknowledgement (lucky because as you know about 2 weeks later they stopped doing it). Amongst all that there was our HAP no. dates to get our police checks and dates to get our medicals. There was also the letter from Immigration telling us we would need an AOS Sponsor. Once we had been allocated our Case Officer we had another letter asking for the dreaded Form 80, police checks, and medicals (that goes straight through) and asking our AOS to phone centrelink to make an appointment. That letter that came with the acknowledgement regarding AOS is the one you need to take to Centrelink. My daughter took the one we had lastly with our Case Officer's name but it's the initial letter you get advising you that you will require an AOS that they want. (IMO, take both). We actually went into Centrelink and picked up the forms she needed to fill in (it's a green 10 page thing). Incidentally, it says phone for an appointment and after my daughter spending hours hitting the redial button because it was always engaged she eventually got through and was told she didn't need an appointment!! So she went into Centrelink and lodged the paperwork. It took almost 2 weeks to receive a letter from them asking for a telephone interview. In all fairness the lady in Centrelink was really helpful and very nice. My daughter phoned (easier to get through for this), had the telephone interview. She uploaded the correct form they required straight to Centrelink and phoned the following day to make sure it had been received. 5 days later she had a letter from Centrelink asking her to go and pay the bond. That's been done. The bank gives you some paperwork back and you have to take that (or upload it) to Centrelink within 14 days. We took it the same day as she banked the money. Which leads us to where we are now..... waiting for an acceptance letter!

    Hope that helps Joe

  17. Hi Maisie so pleased to hear that they have asked for the money for the AOS. I am watching your progress very carefully as I think all applicants from June 14 onwards are in for a similar process. When you finally get your AOS and IMMI have received confirmation, would you mind posting how long the whole process took? we move out of our house in 9 weeks and haven't Been asked for anything yet by IMMI so feeling very anxious. Going to do the police report and get that out of the way. Julie
Hi Julie My daughter went into the bank yesterday and paid the bond. We then took the paperwork from them and went straight to Centrelink to hand it in. The lady there said she had passed it onto the processing team and now again, we wait to hear. Will definitely post how long it took for the AOS, I've noted all the dates and I'll give you a good run down of it all. So far it's taken 4 weeks tomorrow. Does anyone else feel they've aged 10 years waiting for our visas?

    Good luck Julie

    maisie

  18. Hi Maisie

glad you have the request for the bond. Am pretty sure the cheque will have to be payable to herself or commonwealth bank as she will actually be opening some type of special account that will be in her name.Once the bond money is deposited you then have to wait for another letter from centrelink to say that the AOS has been done and this letter then has to be scanned to Immi. That's what we had to do last month. Hope this helps and hang in there you nearly at the end of the road

    Linda

Thank you Linda. My daughter is going there today and then on to Centrelink to give them the payment acknowledgement. I just want it all to move on now, it's been sooooo long.

    Good luck with everything

    best wishes
