  1. Thanks guys, Do any of you have direct experience of successfully emigrating whilst utilising a TRA as a self employed individual? I get using a migration agent, however I am not on a position to do currently. Thanks Paul, I’ve looked at the official TRA guidelines but would like to hear people’s personal experiences of the documentation they have supplied. Please feel free to P.M me if anyone would like to discuss further. TIA
  2. Hi guys, absolutely will be getting a migrant agent in due course. I wanted to prepare as much as I can until I can engage with one so less leg work when that time comes. Thanks again. I will let you know how I get on.
  3. Hi guys, Has any one successfully emigrated and had to prove their previous experience as a self employed tradie, how did you do this? I'm thinking, several references m, pictures of work, invoices and bank statements. the only difficulty I have is that to prove these from years ago may be difficult as I wasn’t as stringent with paper work then. will a reference and bank statement showing incoming suffice? Thanks in advance, Jay
  4. Hello all Thanks for your contribution, it seems my plan is going to have to take to the back burner for now. Not to worry as I have a genuine interest in OHS and will strive to achieve my goal once I arrive in Australia! Again thank you for your knowledge. Kind Regards James
  5. Hey guys! Thanks for the responses! It looks like you all have saved me a lot of time, money and effort! I am going to look into the Cert IV in OHS and Training and Assessment. The process for me coming over will take a year so I am considering starting the courses long distance. Once I have gained these qualifications do you think it will be hard to find a job with no experience in the role? I read there was a big demand for OHS officers in Australia so was hoping on gaining a start? Id consider any role no matter how remote! Kind Regards James
  6. Hello Eera Thanks for the response! Ive found out there is a International Diploma I can do so I just need to find out how it transfers! Good ideas I will contact the training providers and see what they come back with and look into this trainer assessor ticket. Yes I would be aiming for mining work, I see so I my have to do some specific mining certifications. Thanks for the help. think Ill go ahead and start the Diploma. Id prefere to do this than Painting in forty degree heat! Kind Regards James
  7. Hello Im looking at moving to Australia in the future on my Painting and Decorating NVQ3. I have passed my NEBOSH General Certification and wish to do my NEBOSH Diploma. Is the Nebosh Diploma a respected qualification in Australia? I ask as a lot of job advertisements Ive seen ask for a degree. As I will be on a skilled visa for my NVQ3 I will have to stick with Painting for now so wont have any experience in OHS, will it be hard to find a job in OHS once in Australia with no experience? I was hoping I could get a training role and would like to work in the Pilbara. Any help that anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated. Kind Regards, James
  8. Hello to all  Having recently spent two years on a working holiday visa in Australia, I have decided I want to move to Ozzy for good! I am a NVQ3 qualified Painter and Decorator, so will be applying for my visa with this. I wont be arriving in Australia for a couple of years so I have decided to train again (this is where I need help!) I have two options, firstly i have been accepted into college to do an HNC in construction and i have also completed my General certificate in Health and safety. The HNC will allow me to get in to Quantity Surveying and Project Management. The Diploma, a Health and Safety Advisor. I wont have time to study for both so what I need to know is what is going to be of more advantage in terms of salary, job availability, career progression once in Australia?? Is the HNC recognised for Q.S roles? As I will be emigrating on my NVQ3 I will have to keep Painting so will not have experience in either of these occupations until I make the move. I have experience working in the Pilbra and would like to get back into FIFO work with one of these occupations. I am quite happy to work regional if it means gaining experience in my new occupation. Any help will be greatly appreciated Kind Regards, James
