Hey PW1, On your packaging, If customs finds reason to open the container, they will do it in your absence. If they find reason to open your locked flight cases, they will definitely break open the locks. A little off the subject but hope you don't mind me asking. I notice you might be in the IT profession like myself. So where are you moving to? Do you have any prospects, leads or opportunities yet for IT Employment? Regards, D

Anyone have an idea of how long it would typically take to get a good IT Job in Melbourne? I am eagerly awaiting my Skilled Independent (189) Visa and planning to move to Melbourne ASAP. I am a qualified ICT Specialist with a MSc Computer Science from UK, MBA, BSc IT(Hons), CISSP, CISA, CISM, MCITP, MCSE, MCSA, MCTS, MCP, CEH and ITIL V3 and over 8 Years of solid experience. Hi Rossco2810. I think you should be getting yours soon. It normally does not go past 1 month after submitting Meds/PCC. Hope you get yours soon!

Just Curious. For the 189 PR Visa, How long does it typically take to get a visa grant after submitting Meds and PCC after getting request from CO? I submitted Form 80 in May 2014 and got an email from CO requesting for Meds and PCC in early June 2014. Any ideas? Regards, D

Ok. Found out in April 2014 that I had been allocated a case officer in Dec 2013. Apparently, I applied through an agent who did not inform me that I had a case officer. The CO has requested for Form 80 which I sent as at 20th April. Hoping for the best. Thanks all for your comments.

How easy is it for ICT Professionals to find decent jobs within the ICT industry in Australia? I am a prospective immigrant hoping to settle in Melbourne on a 189 visa soon (Hopefully in 2014). I am a Graduate with a MSc (Computer Science), MBA, BSc(IT) and CISSP, CISA,CISM, MCITP etc... I have around 10 years of experience in ICT Security and Management. Hello Everyone, Congratulations to everyone who got their Visas. I lodged an application for a Permanent resident visa (189) from Kenya in September 2013. I hoped to be allocated a case officer within 10 weeks after lodging the application. It is now over 6 Months since I lodged the application and I'm yet to receive any communication from your side. I keep logging into my ImmiAccount and notice that the status is always 'in Progress'. The account was last updated on September 2013. I attached all required documents whose status are al showing either as 'received' or 'recommended'. This is quite a bit frustrating. Anyone facing a similar problem? :no:
