  1. Visa Approved. Woop Dee Doo! Here's my complete timeline: Nomination submitted: 01/07/13 Nomination approved: 29/08/13 Application submitted: 06/09/13 CO assigned: Early December sometime (Parramatta Office) 24/2/14: Request for wife's medical, minus the x-ray since she's pregnant 21/3/14: Request for Health Undertaking form in the morning, visa approved in the afternoon. Just in time for the weekend
  2. It seems that our experiences have been pretty similar We'd also been hoping to have the via approved before the birth to qualify for PPL, but I'm not certain that we would qualify even it it were granted. I'm not sure if PPL payments come under the Newly Arrived Residents Waiting Periods, or not. We've been told a number of conflicting stories http://www.humanservices.gov.au/customer/enablers/newly-arrived-residents-waiting-period My other half is also from a low-risk, and Medibank said that the X-ray can be deferred until after the birth, but neither them nor the case officer would give a clear answer as to what that actually means for visa application. At this stage, I feel doubtful it will be granted until after the birth. If that's the case, then I think it becomes necessary to submit a change of situation on the application and likely becomes necessary to pay the extra applicant fee for the child
  3. It's all very unclear to be honest. The CO seemed to be under the impression that it can be granted but that it's up to medibank as to whether or not they grant a pass on the medical without the x-ray. Medibank told me that's rubbish and that IMMI need to make that decision. We'll do it and see what happens...
  4. Got the call this evening from my CO advising that my pregnant missus go ahead and do the medical minus the x-ray. Hopefully not too much longer now. This is the first contact we've had and is almost 6 months since we submitted the application...
  5. Thanks rammy, d-day is April 20th the good news is we're already in Australia and I'm already working for the employer on a 457. The whole X-ray during pregnancy thing can be very confusing. Australian health authorities actively discourage it, while US and others argue that the exposure is minimal and harmless to the baby. I'll update here once I hear from IMMI...
  6. Long time anxious watcher of this thread, so it's time to share my experience: Nomination submitted: 01/07/13 Nomination approved: 29/08/13 Application submitted: 06/09/13 CO assigned: Early December sometime (Parramatta Office) No contact whatsoever since. I've sent numerous emails, made numerous phone calls to try find out what my pregnant wife needs to do about her medical, as she can't do the xray but haven't been able to get a straight answer. We live in wait, for now at least
