  1. We received our 189 bias a couple of weeks ago [emoji16] so now just finishing off the house so we can get it in the market! Are you therapy or diagnostic? Feel free to email me direct if you want any help julieb2604@me.com jx
  2. I sent it off on the 10th April & received the cert in 8th Sept! They got back to me 3 x because of my CPD. I was off for 1 year of the 3 years and they kept asking me for evidence. I was off because my parents had died 10 days apart, I had to send in their death Certs in the end! I guess some people do try it. You should be fine as long as you have done some CPD. I sent it over electronically as a web folia.
  3. Owen2k - we didn't wait for a case officer just went for our Medicals and sent off our police checks. Just be careful that you have 12 months to enter OZ to validate your visa from the date of your police checks or medical. I'm not sure which as ours were within a day of each other! That's why we possibly didn't see case officer on our immi account as like you said everything was there so it was looked through and approved straight away. Good luck Jx
  4. I've just looked up the salaries we could be getting omg!
  5. Looking forward to seeing you all on the group [emoji3] I'm in the main site and poms wanting Brisbane under Julie brown. We submitted our visa on the 5th Nov, no case officer just straight to approved on Monday! Sophie are you diagnostic or therapy? I'm finding there are not so many therapy jobs compared to diagnostic bit like the UK really. Good luck Owen, it won't be long now! Claire where are you based in the UK? We have meet ups from the poms group. I'm based in East anglia and I think a group meet up near Manchester. Jx
  6. That's great news! I've had my 189 VISA granted on Monday yah! Alot of stress but nearly there, just got to sell the house. Hope to move to the Sunshine Coast in July [emoji3] Are any of you on face book? There's a great group on there pomswantingoz lots of info and discussions. I've already had BBQ invites for when we arrive! Good luck Jx
  7. Hi Claire & Owen, ive just been through this process... I originally did the academic IELTS because l was thinking of sponsership and they required 7, I do have a British passport, however, I needed 8's for points purposes as I'm old! But I struggled getting the 8's, I kept missing it by 0.5! So a couple of weeks ago l sat the general and got 9's and a 8.5 so l was so relieved. I also got got my positive skills assessment through AIR last week, it did take 22 weeks so prepare for a wait. I do have a British degree in Oncology & Radiotherpy Technology, so not sure how your diploma works from South Africa. You mentioned the nurses having diplomas and being accepted for degrees in OZ, that hasn't been the case recently as they have just changed the rules. I would be inclined to drop AIR an email to clarify, I found them very approachable. Your right regarding the points l have gained 15 points for this. I submitted my EOI yesterday so l guess it's now the waiting game to be invited, I'm going for the 189 visa. If l can offer you any help please feel free to get in contact. Jules
  8. I was told if this is the route I wish to take it will only be 4-6 weeks to get the visa through! But double check, I'm still trying for the 189 option first. Jx
  9. I have emailed him the form tonight to see if he would do just that. His wife is over at the moment in the Uk, I'm seeing her tomorrow so I'm also going to give her a copy to take back. I really don't want it holding up the visa process, I've yet to submit my EOI though as I'm still waiting for my assessment & IELTS results. Jx
  10. I'm just looking up the statutory doc Jac, my problem is that the boys Dad lives in Dubai.
  11. Hi, I wonder if someone could advise me on what form l need my ex husband to sign so that l can apply for PR visa to take the children to live in OZ. I currently live in the UK with the boys and my ex lives in Dubai. He has agreed for me to take them as he said he can visit them in either the UK or OZ, so there is no issue, we just don't know what forms to fill in. Many thanks, Jules
  12. That's fantastic news Chris! I'm currently on the IELTS treadmill chasing marks, very frustrating, but also encouraged by your news. Best of luck. Jules
  13. My son has now decided to apply to the RAF, which to be honest I'm not sure how I feel about? On one hand I will feel like I'm abandoning him and on the other he is nearly 18 so I feel l have to respect it's his life!
  14. Hi emwatson, MaggieMay24 & sethra, Thank you so much for your further comments. Sorry I haven't been in touch sooner but I've been working, now off for a few days. I'm studying for my next IELTS instalment! This time in going for the general so fingers crossed. But I will take onboard what you said emwatson re having it remarked if I'm close. Jules x
  15. Hi wrussell, what did you do then? I thought they needed to be certified? I haven't checked the website yet as Seppo suggested, I'm watching the closing ceremony of the commonwealth games and watching the video of the Gold Coast...I can't wait to be there! Jx
  16. Thanks for your help Seppo it's great. Jx
  17. Thanks Gin100, good luck with the move, keep us posted. Jx
  18. Wow 3 weeks how exciting and busy! How's the packing going?! Have you got jobs, house etc to go to? I'm currently struggling with the IELTS, I will be having my third attempt in 2 weeks, hopefully it will be 3rd time lucky :0)
  19. That's great Seppo thanks, how long ago did you do the process? Did you do it all yourself it did you appoint an agent? Jules
  20. Hi Seppo, Thanks. We are applying for either the 189 or 190. I will take a look at the DIBP website. Jules
  21. Hi all, I'm probably being a bit premature here as I'm still awaiting my assessment result, it's been 16 weeks ready?! But a friend who is a solicitor has offered to certify any documents we need for our visa application, which is great of him. I'm just not sure what we are going to need? Hopefully someone on here can assist us? Thanks in advance. Jules x
  22. Jules RT

    Hi There!

Hi Danka, Welcome! We are also a family with 2 teenagers and a dog! I'm a Radiographer and I'm awaiting the results from my assessment, it's been a long 16 weeks!!! I've also had to do the IELTS, I needed 8 in all sections and unfortunately so far to date I've been short by 0.5 on the writing and 1.0 on the reading...my next go is in 2 weeks so fingers crossed it's 3rd time lucky! My advise just practise, practise, practise [emoji16] We are looking at the Sunshine Coast as we have family there, but to honest we will go anywhere there is a job initially. We're just investigating the cost of taking Harvey, our black lab, it doesn't look cheap but the boys and Hubbie would never leave him behind! I'm finding this forum is great to get information, we are doing the application ourselves as well so will be looking for advise on what paperwork we need to get together soon. Are you children looking forward to it? Mine can't wait to get there! Just waiting on Alevel results from one! Your right it's a long process but reading stories on here it's going to be worth it in the end. Keep in touch. Jules
  23. Hi Pumpkin, yes he does want to finish his Alevels so out plans are to come next year after he has finished them. He is just concerned if he doesn't do well enough to carry on what his options are as he wants to move to OZ. He is looking at Uni there but I'm unsure what financial help he will be offered? Do you have any advice on this? Jx
  24. I'm interested in any replies you get stevio as we will be in the same position next year! My son has done the first year of his Alevels, gets the results in a couple of weeks, but his not very confident. We will be going over on a PR visa as well, so good to hear there is no cost implications. The only info we have been given is that if Ollie goes over next year he will be too old to go back to high school to do the cert. So Tate would be the only option or getting a job. We will be looking at the Sunshine Coast area but will go where the work is. It's a scary thought moving with no job, house etc but also very exciting to be starting a fresh. Jx
