Hello I've just submitted my EOI and I am pretty confident i will be invited to apply for a visa - been through it before but circumstances got in the way and I couldn't go. this time around I need to supply evidence of my defacto relationship. We have been together for two years but everything is in my name, no joint account, but di have evidence of transactions between our accounts....trump card is we have a 10 week old baby. I'm hoping this is enough to show we are in a defacto relationship!! Anyone else been in this situation??

Yea I spent 6 weeks travelling the East coast during the summer and spent 2 weeks in Sydney with friends over Christmas and New Year. I love it over there :jiggy:

I'll be worried too but its only natural. I'm doing everything myself so pressure's on for me to get it right. Waiting for my police check too. Hoping to be in Sydney by end of October. Where are you moving too?

Yes booked in for 28th Feb. Have you booked yours yet? I've uploaded my P60s from 2006 onwards, letter from employer proving my employments dates and a letter from my uni so far. Rest of certificates are getting certified by a pals Dad so hopefully have them uploaded by next week. How you getting on with everything? When you planning going over?

Totally pointless! My mate got an overall of 8 but only got awarded 10 points as his lowest score was 7.5.

When I applied for my visa (189) they didn't go with my overall mark they went with my lowest mark. I think you could submit your EOI with your current score then change it when you get a better score.

I only created my immi account when I recieved my formal invite after submitting my EOI. Once you receive this formal invite there will be a link next to your EOI about creating your immi account which is linked to your EOI. If you only submitted your EOI on 11th Feb then the next round of invites will be two weeks away.

Coolbreeze, did you get your AITSL certificate and skilled employment letter certified?

I'm not impressed with that either! I'm actually now remembering holidays I'd forgotten about.

Hope this is true as I can't remember exact dates.

Seems a bit much to put in all countries travelled to in 10 years but needs must I suppose!

So I'm just filling in my employment history section and I need to put in a finish date for my current job. What did you guys put in as I have no idea when I'll be finishing up.

Ideally I would like to be in Sydney by October, hoping thats not being too optimistic! What about you?

Thanks Coolbreeze! Can't believe how quickly people get invited. Going to book my medical today. Some folk say it's best to wait until you have been allocated a CO before booking the medical, not sure why though? Want to start filling in my visa form, is it ok to say no for medical just now then go back and change it??

Thanks for the reply. I am doing the visa process myself and received my invitation today. Hoping that there will be some recruitment agencies there. Will also check out the banking situation too.

I googled IELTS practice tests and worked my way through those. I also looked over the revision aids and videos on the British Council website once I had paid for my test. The videos have lots of helpful tips.

Do you have to provide proof of funds on a 189 visa? If so, how much is it? Thanks

I bet it does! Need to send off for police check and book my medical now. Can I go ahead with my medical before I've been assigned a CO? Also, do I pay for the visa straight away?

I only had to sit the General IELTS test. I found it pretty straight forward. I was most worried about the writing element. My advice would be to fully prepare for it by looking over the practice papers online and when you sign up you'll have access to more revision material. I think some people may take it for granted that they will pass with good marks because they're British or come from an English speaking country.

I'm not sure what test you mean. But for a skills assessment I think you have to have qualifications in your chosen field if you are applying for a skilled visa 189/190
