  1. It isn't financial status they are asking for in my case. They are asking for financial evidence to support the work experience I claimed in my application. They want to see documents like payslips, tax documents, bank statements etc. I think I've got some old documents stored away hopefully, but it is never fun digging through old documents. I'm not sure if they ask for financial status to prove that you can support yourself, but I wouldn't worry if I was you. £50k sounds more than enough to support yourself for a while until you get a job. I would assume that if somebody can meet the strict requirements to qualify for the visa and pay for the visa, then they are probably not going to be a burden on the Australian state.
  2. Looks like I've been allocated a Case Officer! I've been requested to upload medicals, police clearance and financial evidence of employment for all employers.
  3. Congrats! Have fun in Oz! I think honestly is the best policy too.
  4. @gtaylor: For the medicals, did you print out the "eMedical" form that is generated from your ImmiAccount or did you simply provide them with your HAP id and passport?
  5. You could wait for Case Officer to be assigned and then find out what they want? None of those documents are mandatory for submitting your application and starting the ball rolling in the process. This is my 2 cents, I'm not a migration agent or an expert. For PCC you could probably include a cover letter if something comes up in a more recent check. For defacto, I'm not sure, but you could look at the guidance for what is required or wait for CO to ask for certain documents.
  6. Welcome! Good luck this time around! At least you've got all the documents ready!
  7. I just found the bit on IMMI where documents are uploaded. I must have missed it yesterday. I've uploaded all the basic docs that I already had and used for my Skills Assessment. Now to arrange Police Clearance and Medicals. Im getting my medicals done here: http://www.bridgewaterhospital.com/treatments/medmigration.html And UK Police Clearance here: http://www.acro.police.uk/police_certificates.aspx
  8. Now that I'm in the queue, waiting for a CO, I'm wondering what to do next. Has anybody uploaded any documentation with their applications so far? I've started pricing up medical checks, can I go ahead and book this now or do I need to wait for CO to request it first? I've also looked into getting Police Clearance, so I assume I can start the ball rolling with that as well in the mean time without waiting for CO?
  9. There are 3 potential hoops before an approval: 1. Medicals 2. Police Clearance 3. Form 80 (this is up to Case Officer discretion) I think all of the hoops are up to Case Officer discretion actually, but I've seem almost everybody on the forum apply for Police Clearance and Medicals. You can add these to your application as you get them, or wait for the Case Officer to ask for them. I'm not sure on remaining time scales, but I'm working on 2 months. It looks like it takes about 3-4 weeks to get a Case Officer allocated and then another 2-3 weeks for an approval. If you look at the thread for people who lodged in March, there are still many people waiting for responses to their applications.
  10. I had the same issue. I reopened everything in a different browser and things worked. I have just submitted my application today.
  11. Starting the thread for all May 189 applicants. I received my invitation in the 12 May draw and have just submitted my application. I've not front-loaded any documents. Fingers crossed! Good luck to everybody!
  12. I just received my invitation! Fantastic news! Good luck everybody!
  13. I've submitted my EOI. In the end I did the following. I added the employment before "skill met date", but claimed it was unrelated for points. Then only claimed points for employment beyond "skill met date".
  14. Thanks a lot. I don't want to overclaim points, since that is probably the worst thing to do.
  15. Hi I have a problem in preparing my EOI. I believe it is giving me too many points for employment. My ACS skills assessment came back positive, but with the typical "skill met date" after my first employment started. Simple e.g. Job A 09/2007 - 06/2010 But "skill met date" is 09/2009. Now, in the EOI, it asks for employment history of past 10 years. If I enter the date of my first job. Job A. 09/2007 I believe it is awarding me too many points. It is awarding 10 points when I believe I should be getting 5. So my question is, should I "cut" Job A down to the "skill met date"?
  16. Ok, thanks. I'll use the date I find on my results.
  17. Ok, thanks Robbouk. I'll probably be doing the same. Good luck for your invitation.
  18. Im filling out my EOI and I'm a little confused about something. Originally, I was planning on only submitting EOI for 189. I believe I have a pretty strong case for 189 so obviously I want an invitation for this category. My question is: should I check other categories as well? Just in case? I would probably also qualify under 190 and and maybe even 489. Is there any harm in checking these as well?
  19. I'm filling out my EOI and I've got a question about the date of the IELTS exam that I enter on the EOI. My IELTS was conducted over 2 days. Day 1 was listening, reading and writing. Day 2 was the speaking interview. Which date do I use? The date Day 1 of the exam or the date of the results?
  20. Thanks. A new browser seems to have solved it. Very strange.
  21. I'm trying to start an EOI submission so I can prepare for the early May intake, but I get a 500 server error. This isn't the first time. I tried a couple of days ago as well. Has anybody else had this issue?
  22. Thanks so much! This is exactly the type of information I was looking for. 28 days does not sound like that much time for things like Police checks which is why I was asking. I don't want to be surprised by anything like that. I probably won't front load Police Clearance and medicals, but I'll start the process once visa is lodged. What is the list of mandatory supporting documentation that must be submitted with the 189 Visa?
  23. Thanks for the info. Your timeline seems to follow what I've seen before. About 1 month to get case officer allocated, then about 1 month for a decision. Im guessing you responded to case officer as quick as possible, but do you remember if there were any deadlines given by the case officer? i.e. if the case officer wanted a document or something, did you need to respond within 14 days or something?
  24. Would love to hear if anybody has insights on this?
