I have been reading the treat for the past 6 months and thought I would share our journey, be it incomplete with the forum:
I have been the eternal optimist for the past 12 months. Everyday hoping that the Parent Visa Centre has a change of direction (for the better) and process application in a record time! Well, I can say that the optimism has deteriorated on a daily basis, and over the past 2 months optimism has changed over to pure frustration.
We lodged my in-laws 143 application and the PVC confirmed acceptance on 23 July 2012. To date we have received not a single word. Tomorrow it will be 500 days and as per the visa tracker, a new record.!! Well done processing centre.
As I am the authorised representative for my in-laws, I have contacted the department on numerous times by phone and email. By phone they advise that they cannot give dates and expected durations until a case officer is assigned, but for the past 2 months have every time mentioned that they are working thru a back log and our application should not be too far away.
The email returns I have received from the PVC is a bit more concerning, 3 emails over the past 2 months have all come back with the same date the department is currently processing applications as 11 June 2012… I don’t believe this as the tracker shows case officers were assigned to application up to 7 July 2012.
We do remain hopeful of getting a case officer before Christmas, fingers cross.
I will update the forum on any progress going forward, be it good or bad.
