Do I need to select the tax free bit also or leave this unchecked?

Please, please, please, can someone help me??? My hubby has been offered a job with a salary package of $85,000 inclusive of superannuation. Can anyone tell me how much he will actually be paid each month (or annually as I'll just divide by 12) after the super goes out and tax? We will be on a 457 visa and living in Brisbane. thank you from a very confused person

what do mean by the benefits would not be available? My hubby has been offered a job where the salary has been given as including superannuation so I assume this to mean each month the money would be deducted from his salary before we receive it. Can they not do this if you are on a 457? Sorry I'm very confused lol

Yeah they have worded it as salary including super, so added to the tax that you pay in Oz it takes up deductions to quite a high level. guess we should shelve the dream for now then as this leaves us more out of pocket than staying where we are thanks j

I can't really help but didn't want to read and run. Do the British thing and keep your chin up and like others have said, don't turn on each other as you need each other more than ever right now

Looking at these 'spends' makes me worry that we won't be able to afford it

Not that I can be of much help but I just want to warn you that this is just the beginning. I live down the road in Abu Dhabi and this country is just amazing at getting you annoyed and making things that are quite simple seem really difficult. The best bit of advice I can give is to breathe in and out deeply and start again. Otherwise the alternative is you want to hit someone and that would have you deported goog go luck and keep breathing

Hi everyone, I'm wondering if anyone can help me understand something - sorry if it's in the wrong place. My DH has just received his contract to sign regarding his job offer in Aus, detailing things such as salary, relocation, etc. However, it says that his salary is including superannuation, is this right should the company not be paying the superannuation? Sorry I'm very confused (it doesn't take much) and wondered if any of you might know. thanks everyone

Hiya, yeah making the big move hopefully sooner rather than later. We're looking to be based in or around Brisbane. AD is ok but been here almost 6 years now and have to say the novelty is starting to wear off lol

My hubby is from Widnes. Hopefully we will be in or around a Brisbane in the early new year. Us northerners never go far before bumping into someone from home so who knows, depending where you are off to we might see you around lol
