Hi Guys, I applied for ACS assessment following RPL route 12 weeks back and in the 13th week now, they have put the application on hold raising the following query: Revised ACS Project Report Form. The assessor requires　a revised project report detailing (1) how the knowledge was learnt, and (2) where it was applied, separately for all the areas of knowledge, i.e.TB1, TB2 etc. As my education is non ICT(B.Com), I went the RPL route to show case my ICT learning and experience of 14 years so for question (1), how the knowledge was learnt, it can't be through my studies and course as that's the whole purpose of me filling an RPL so what are they expecting me to say here other than "I learnt it all on the job"? Secondly for their other question (2) where it was applied, the learnt knowledge was applied and is being applied day to day on the project I work on so again what's the question ? As you know we have to show 2 projects in RPL report and that's what I have submitted in my report so is it that I show the learning in project 1 and it's application in project 2 ? I'm really confused so anyone having faced a similar situation before please help !:mad:

OK, I called up VETASSESS today on the number published on their website and spoke to a case officer. She herself didn't know that now we can upload docs online :arghh: so after putting my call on hold for 2 minutes, she returned and said there's no need to post the documents now as it's a fairly new change to their site so no action outstanding on me.

Thanks for your quick reply though it's frustating that they don't make it clear on their site and what's the point asking the applicant for uploading scanned copies when they still expect a postal version but anyway, they are the master in this case. Another quicky, As my skills assessment is with ACS (IT profession), I hope they don't want me to include all of employment documents too as it will be irrelevant as I'm only applying for PTA to assess my qualification? Any views and was yours a full skills assessment or just PTA to assess qualifications?

Hi Quick question, I logged an application for PTA (Points Test Advice) online last week and uploaded all the qualification documentation online as my skills are being assessed via ACS. MY question: do I also need to send all documentation via post ? On the link here http://www.vetassess.com.au/migrate_to_australia/assess2_my_qualifications.cfm it clearly states that I can upload documents online but, on the link here: http://www.vetassess.com.au/migrate_to_australia/qa2_points_test_advice.cfm#6 it contradicts and doesn't make any reference to uploading online docs but only mentions sending them via post so I'm confused. I don't want to waste time and and hearing from VETASSES after weeks that they are still awaiting post documents when I'm thinking my appliction is already in progress so need help from experienced people please. Did you guys file an online application and if you did, did you also send the docs via post ?

Hi Peace, Would you mind sharing some more info please? Can you tell what was the outcome of your VETASSES for your BCom qualification and was it awarded the same status as that of a Bachelor degree as per AQF? I'm concerned as when I started filling the registration form, its asking for full time or part time BCom and mine was correspondance/part time degree so will it be awarded an equivalent status to a regular BCom from Delhi university or degraded ?

Hi Peace, I was reading across internet fourms since last 1 week until I stumbled on this thread you initiated and that clears the dust over the process and need for a PTA. Im on the same boat and a BCom graduate from Delhi University. I have already applied for ACS with RPL last week so was wondering if I have to get my qualifications assessed via a seperate authority and PTA is the way forward! Assuming you have been through the process by now, can you confirm/advise : 1) If it's mandatory to wait for the ACS conclusion on my skill assessment and an advise from ACS to go for VETASSES or I can just initiate a PTA with VETASSES in parellel while ACS is assessing my skils ? 2) How long it took you to get your assessment from the day you applied ? I look forward to your response....

I think I now know the answer to my first question above and the deduction of 6 years from my total 13 years experience is to met the suitability criteria so the date when 6 years experience end is the date considered for "Skill Level Requirement Met Date" ?

Hi Guys, Im planning to assess my skills via ACS and familiarising myself with the process etc. I have 13 years IT experience & a BCom graduate in 1998 from India. As per Skill assessment guideline, I will most likely land in the non ICT Bachelor degree category so suppose ACS will deduct 6 years from my total experience leaving behind 7 so Im thinking of applying with RPL experience. My question/confusion is, reading section 3 of the same guide that talks about SKILL LEVEL REQUIREMENT MET DATE. This section states a two years deduction from experience after the skill level requirement date is met. So I want to know how will ACS arrive at this skill level requirement met date and will it in my case mean I have 7 years experience reaming to claim or further 7-2 = 5 years experience to claim?
