  1. My wife received a positive Vetassess result for her nominated occupation which is great and our first big step towards Aus. But looking at the results i'm unclear on the assessment of her qualification. She has a Bachelor of Arts in English and Creative Studies. Her nominated occupation qualification requirement is a Diploma (Conference and Event Organiser - 149311). Going by the link to the snapshot of her results does this mean they only assessed the qualification "up to" diploma level as this is all that is required for her occupation? Meaning without a points test advise letter we can't claim 15 points for her degree? http://imageshack.com/a/img600/912/seq7.jpg
  2. We've just received a positive result for our Vetassess assessment and are now planning to apply for ACT SS. My wife is the primary applicant. We're not sure what to state as her final work experience date due to minimum hours worked when applying for a 190 visa as she commenced maternity leave on 3 Dec 2012. She took the full year off, which was on full pay for the first few months and then a percentage of her pay thereafter. She decided not to return to work and her official employment termination date was 31 Dec 2013. We had assumed maternity leave would be part of our employment experience, as its considered continuous employment here in the UK, but on further research believe DIBP don't take into account maternity leave for employment when applying for a 190 visa, one would assume especially if you don't return to work. Does anyone know otherwise? We have sufficient points to play safe and claim from 4 Dec 2012, rather than 31 Dec 2013. The only thing that may pose a question by DIBP is that we have a reference and duty statement signed by her manager in Nov 2013 which obviously states she is still employed by the company at that time. Is it still valid to submit, or will the dates cause confusion? Thanks for any advice anyone can offer.
  3. Only Schedule 2 occupations require a job offer. So in your case no you do not need a job offer.

    Gutted!!!

I spoke to them this morning and they confirmed those under Schedule 2 on the new WASMOL are under the off list criteria already. Hope the new criteria in the pipeline is easier on us.
  5. Thanks for the info - we getting up to speed on the process! So even if vetassess validate the degree but say its non related, can we still claim the 15 points with immigration for the degree? I don't think we'll bother with the vetassess points assessment then if it's not fact. We planning to apply for state sponsorship, hopefully with WA if we on the new list and meet the new criteria or ACT (listed as limited).
  6. I'm trying to get an understanding of the Vetassess process. What outcome 'should' we expect. Need help here please. My wife is under 149311 and luckily has 15yrs experience with all her job titles containing the word Events!! Her degree is Bachelor of Arts in English and Creative Studies which i'm guessing they may take as non related(!) but we've since found on her Uni website, under her course that "Event Management" is listed as "Opportunities" after the degree... should we make Vetassess aware of this? They have only just received our docs. I'm trying to workout how many points we can submit to EOI(once the result comes in). Does the Vetassess result give a points score for degree and experience that can then be submited for EOI? And potentially how far back will they go into her experience as we may then need to submit further docs as she has changed jobs every 3 years so getting all the docs will be a nightmare!
