  1. Thanks a lot guys, replies were helpful!! Cheers
  2. That's the thing, our marriage certificate reflects our names before getting married, whereas, her passport would reflect the changed surname.
  3. I am applying for 189 visa along with my wife with me being the primary applicant. We got married recently, she didn't have a passport then, I am applying for her passport now. Since, she has taken my surname and passport is going to reflect the same, however, her secondary and tertiary certificates have a different surname. Is there going to be a problem ? I do have marriage certificate which evidently reflects our surnames before marriage. Do I need any other documents or anything else ?? Cheers, Lovej
  4. @Matthewroberts congratulations!! As per the Immi website, Marriage certificate is all I need.[h=4]Your family relationships[/h]Spouse or de facto partner If you are married or in a de facto relationship, provide evidence of a genuine and continuing relationship with your partner at the exclusion of all others. If you are married provide a scanned colour copy of marriage certificate or relationship registration for you and your partner For de facto relationships this should include evidence that you have been in the relationship for at least 12 months at time of application. Evidence can include, but is not limited to, joint bank account statements, billing accounts in joint names, other evidence of cohabitation etc). [*]If you or anyone included in the application has been widowed, divorced or is permanently separated: a certified scanned colour copy of the relevant death certificate, divorce decree absolute, or statutory declaration/separation certificate. We got married 1.5 months ago, so not sure, if other proofs such as (joint bank statements etc) of such a short time period would hold credible. Also, I am from INDIA, so my wife would have to give IELTS/PTE to prove her English, however, she did complete her Bachelors in Information Technology for 4 years after her secondary education in Science and Mathematics for 2 years, all of which was in English. Does she still needs to give an English exam ?? Last question, I gave PTE exam instead of IELTS and got pretty good scores (L- 87 R- 84 S- 90 W-76). Has Australia started accepting it yet ??
  5. cool, thanks again, will post on the forum again once, we get our PR, till then adios!!
  6. I have marriage certificate to prove that
  7. @steven106 She does have skills that could help me with 5 extra points but getting ACS and everything else would take a lot of time that I don't have. I already have so much on my plate. As everyone said, 60 points are enough so, I am just going to go for it. Thanks for your response. It was helpful. :-)
  8. Thanks a lot guys, was baffled before but not now, thanks to you all. I will include her now. Since, I am the primary applicant, all she needs is to have functional English, right ?? Nothing else is needed from her end ?? Thanks again.
  9. Thanks for the prompt reply, I was thinking to apply for just myself as I am scoring only 60 points in total and I am not sure if that affect if I include her now. A friend of mine, got his PR with 60 points a week ago, we have the same experience and everything. Would her inclusion affect the chances of my invitation with 60 points ?? Also, how would it effect our application processing time I thought, once, I have the PR, I can file for her too and it would be too hard but I have been researching and it seems that its not as simpler as I thought it would be. Thanks
  10. Hey folks, What are the differences between including your wife in the visa now or after you get 189 visa for yourself and then, filing a separate application ?? Thanks, Lovej
  11. Friend of mine got his Invitation in 5 weeks with 60 points, He is single though, Does the Martial status affects your chances of getting an Invitation ??
  12. Thanks a lot for the info!! Much Appreciated! :-D
  13. Thanks a lot for the information!! Firstly, I am from India, So, my partner would have to do IELTS test which is okay as it just needs to be at the competent level. Secondly, I am applying for 189 Skills Independent Visa Under Computer Networks and systems Engineer, it has a cap of 1800 and till now only 350 invitations have been issues, so i think, 60 points wouldn't stand in the way. Also, a friend of mine got his invitation with 60 points in 5 weeks. Also, i tried checking through the Pricing Estimator but it didn't work, would anybody know How much would i need to pay in AUD ?? Thanks again!! You guys are awesome!!
  14. Thanks again, i went through the website, just need to show the proof of us being married ?? As far as everything else goes, should i need extra 5 points, only then partner's skills assessment and Competent English proof is needed....I am already scoring 60 points so i think there is no need for that ?? Also, would she still have to go through PTE/IELTS ?? Thanks!!! :-)
  15. Okay, thanks a lot, if possible, could you please give me the link so i can brief through it.
  16. Thanks!! Alrite, but if i do include her in the process, wouldn't that mean that she would also have to go through the exact same process, like Skills assessment, PTE etc ??
  17. Hey Fella's, I just got married, so far, i got my Skills assessment and currently am preparing for the PTE academic test. For now, i am applying for myself only but still a tad baffled about the change in the documents. I know i would need to change my passport and will need to get the marriage certificate. But other than these two, would i need anything else considering i only hold the skills assessment ?? Thanks, Lovej
  18. It is sort of official, since it is up on the immi.gov.au....statement released by one of the ministers. In-demand trades added to the Skilled Occupation List Monday, 09 June 2014 Joint media statement with Andrew Robb – Minister for Trade and Investment, and Michaelia Cash – Assistant Minister for Immigration and Border Protection. Chefs, bricklayers and wall and floor tilers will be added to the Skilled Occupation List (SOL) from July 1 to help meet the skills needs of the Australian economy, as announced today by the Minister for Trade and Investment, the Hon. Andrew Robb, and the Assistant Minister for Immigration and Border Protection, Senator the Hon. Michaelia Cash. Minister Robb said the Australian Workforce and Productivity Agency (AWPA) works independently of government to provide annual recommendations on the composition of the SOL to ensure it responds to Australia's changing skill needs. 'The AWPA analyses evidence such as the labour market, education and training, migration and general economic and demographic data to make sure we get the balance right,' Minister Robb said. 'In this case, bricklayers and tilers have been added to the list because of an increase in demand predicted for these occupations as well as a decrease in apprenticeship completions.' Minister Cash said the addition of chefs to the SOL reflects that the occupation is in short supply, coupled with strong growth projected in the café and restaurant sector. 'Including chefs on the SOL will provide greater flexibility for businesses to recruit skilled chefs from overseas when they cannot source these skills locally,' Minister Cash said. 'The addition of these occupations will be especially welcomed in regional areas, where there is a known deficit of skilled workers in the hospitality and construction industries.' The SOL is used for people applying for the independent or family sponsored points tested visa or temporary graduate (subclass 485) – graduate work stream. Before prospective migrants can apply for independent skilled migration, they must submit an expression of interest via SkillSelect. No existing occupations are being removed from the SOL, which currently lists 188 occupations that Australia needs. http://www.minister.immi.gov.au/media/mc/2014/mc215271.htm :-)
  19. Hello, I have a total of 4 years of expierence in Networking IT. I got my acs around 6 months back. My question is, Am i eligible for State sponsorship for victoria under 263111 (Computer Network ans Systems Engineer). They need a minimum of three years of expierence. Although, i have 4 years of expierence but as per ACS the first two years wont be counted. is that applicable here as well ? Cheers!!
  20. Does anyone know when the new SOL would get published/released ??
  21. I think the good idea would be to open google maps along with www.realestate.com.au you would be able to see the schools n everything on the google maps as well as you could see the properties on the realestate website along with your budget. If you want to live close to city then somewhere around toorak is good...in subarbs i would say chadstone, holmesglen, burwood, boxhill...they are good n safe areas along with schools n colleges around. Cheers, Lovej
