  1. yeah i think ill end up staying longer, I already have more than 10k Aus saved up.
  2. yeah that was the plan. around 3 months of paid work 8-10 hours a day paid at appox $27 hour. Once it was over we was planning on leaving. But regarding the whole tax issue and what other people have advised me, id be better of staying here for at least 6 months so I may do that now.
  3. Hi guys, we are three friends, currently living in Bangkok looking to do a working holiday in Oz. We are all born in England and have English passports. We are just doing research at the moment to see what Oz can do for us. (all have degrees not sure if that helps but though id mention it). Aged 25-26. We have applied for jobs in a up coming wheat harvest, which will last 2-4months depending on the harvest, we have some of the follow questions, sorry if they have been asked before. If we work the 2-4 months then head back home, we dont get any of the 32.5% tax we paid back correct? We assume that if we are working there, it is ideal to live in one area for 6 months to collect back all our tax assuming we have earned less than $18,900? What would your thoughts be on just coming for the harvest, than leaving when its finished? is this worth doing $$ wise or better to stay in England and work there? cost of living in these rural towns were they have the harvests apox? (we will be based in Perth if we get the harvest jobs) 3g internet connections in the harvest areas? How easy it is to pick up casual work around Jan-march time? I know all these questions are a bit open ended and depend on alot of factors, but any help would be appreciated, as said we have just started our research so looking for as much advice as we can get.
