advice please...mum in uk and wants to move to aus, pass all the requirements, but wants to come over on long holiday whilst waiting for cpv, so apply for the 3 year parent tourist visa first or apply for cpv first from research I think you cant get the new tourist visa if you have applied for cpv?

Has anyone got any tips on the parent being able to stay in oz for the majority of the time while waiting for the cpv?

I moved back to the UK 18 months ago with my partner after 8 years in Oz, My dad died so I think it made us homesick. since we have been back we have both not settled at all, I think we have changed and are not happy to settle for life in the UK, and we live in a great spot. work is hard everyone is pretty miserable and the weather terrible. We are returning to Oz in September hopefully and I cant wait. I don't see anything wrong with spending time in either country if that's what you want to do, we may go back and then in a few years decide we need another year in UK why not, its your life you only live once and you have to be happy. don't let what other people think make you feel bad for it. I don't regreat the time in UK as we have been able to spend time with family and I have been here to care for my step dad who has terminal cancer this in its self has made us think life is to short not to enjoy. At the end of the day ping ponging is not so bad, only on the finances... but happiness does not come from the wallet..

Hi I'm new on here just have a quick question My partner and I are Australian Citizens have lived there since 2005, but for the last 18 months have been back in UK caring for family. We will be returning to Oz September for good and would like to bring my mother over who is newly widowed. She is 61 so will have to apply for the CPV, will we have a problem because we have been out of the country for 18 months e.g. settled / sponser ?
