  1. Main costs involved are skills assessment, IELTS (if your not excempt), medical checks ($330 when I did it in March), nomination charges ($540), application charges ($3060) (though these may of gone up recently), police background checks for each country you've lived in for 12 months or more in the past 10 years including Australia, can't think of much else but look at the checklists on DIAC's website.
  2. Hi - I would submit the Visa application asap - I put my nominaton in, in June - left it for 2 months - spoke to someone at DIAC who said their is no fixed processing time for a nomination but as soon as its linked to a valid application they then have 6 months or whatever to process it. I went for direct entry ENS 186 - submitted all the relevant info with my application (didn't use an MA for the nomination or application) and 19 days after I submitted by application (early August) my residency was approved both nomination and application together.
  3. Hi All, I got my PR granted today - im ecstatic! Timeline:- Nomination submitted - 19/06/13 Visa type :- ENS Direct Entry (Engineering Technologist) - No MA used for either application or nomination Application submitted - 08/08/2013 Nomination Approved :- 27/08/2013 Visa Granted:- 27/08/2013 Can't believe how quick it was - just goes to show no need to use MA's as they don't speed it up if you know what you're doing!
  4. Sounds promising for me then Nomination submitted: 19/06/13 Visa application (non DR without MA): 08/08/13 I've recieved an acknowledgement letter for the application - submitted medical, form 80, positive skills assessment, police checks, everything thats required so hopefully hear before Christmas
  5. Hi - I've just submitted my 186 application today myself (No MA used) - 08/08/13, employer nomination submitted on 19/06/13 I was just wondering who else has done it without an MA and how long has it taken? Also do I need to complete and attached evidence of health insurance (I have medicare), form 80 and can I attach a decision ready checklist myself or is it solely for use by MA's?
  6. Just a quick question, I'm applying for PR through Direct Entry, my employer lodged my nomination on 19/06/13, I've heard nothing back about my nomination, but was wondering what is stopping me from submitting my application prior to getting the nomination approval? Application is good to go - I have a positive skills assessment, done the pre medical, excempt from IELTS testing and have all the police background checks to hand. I was wondering if my application is in the process would it then speed up the application any bit?
  7. Hi I was looking for some advice - I'm on a 457 applying for PR through Direct Entry, my employer lodged my nomination on 19/06/13, I've heard nothing back about my nomination, but was wondering what is stopping me from submitting my application prior to getting the nomination approval? I have a positive skills assessment, done the pre medical, excempt from IELTS testing and have all the police background checks to hand. My company also said there has never been any issues prior with getting previous nominations approved and was wondering if my application is in the process would it then speed up the application any bit?
  8. Hi I've been following this the last few days - I was wondering if someone could give me advice - my company have lodged an application to sponsor me for a 186 direct entry visa - I plan to do it all myself but wondering how long I'll have to wait for the nomination to get processed and do I wait until I get approved nomination prior to lodging my application. I have everything for the application ready - positive skills assessment, medical checks, police background checks etc - I'm wondering if I leave it too long - do I have to get the medical re done? Also anyone any clue how long it takes to get processed if not using an MA - and once nomination is approved - would it be any quicker for me to get an MA to lodge it as decision ready.
