Opps sorry I did misread the 40 hours lol I did think it would be very nice of them to change it to 40 a week ok so its 40 per fortnight! I was sponsored as a Landscape Gardener on a 457, and when I did it back in 2008/9 ish cert 3 in horticulture was the hightest qualification needed then I spent almost 4 years on that visa and eventually got the 186, my friend at the same work place tried after me and he needed to have cert 4 but his 457 was granted once he had that and then he got his PR through RSMS as we are regional.

Hi all, My family came out to Australia Dec 2007 on a student visa and finally got pr in 2012!! Yay Now I always say it was the hardest most stressful thing we could have done especially with kids and I would never recommend anyone to do it themselves! However now I have a cousin who really wants to come to Australia, hes already done a working visa which he had to cut short due to a family bereavement but hes desperate to get back. Hes married and they are 25 and 27 years old and I have had a quick look on the immigration website and it looks as though students can now work 40 hours a week in term time and unlimited during school holidays which is great as it was only 20 hours during term time when we did it! He would study Horticulture (which I studied) and they can live with us and I can guarantee a job for him in his field of study, so what im asking is how difficult is it nowadays to gain permanent residency through the student route? I ended up being sponsored after I had gained my cert 3 on a 457 and then on the ens and a friend was sponsored at the same place after he gained his cert 4 so this is also a possibility, its been a while since we did the student route and I know how often the rules change so wondering if anyone else is going through this now? My visa was processed in Perth! we applied jan 2013 and did nothing until meds etc were requested end of April so then we got police check, meds and new passports for the kids, medicals took 9 weeks to clear as they lost my x ray but the day after our medicals were finalised our visa was granted! Beginning of July! Would have been quicker if we did the medicals before they were requested but we didn't have the funds at the time

Just to let you all know we got our visa 2 weeks ago! After 5 and a half year of stress and being in a student visa then a 457! I did all the forms myself and found it pretty straight forward and easy! We had a problem with medicals as they got lost in a pile of back logged medicals then lost my x ray so they took 9 weeks to clear but the day after they cleared our visa was approved!! Yay

The forms have security restrictions and wont let me do it! do you think it would be ok to send case officer the whole form without my siganture then a seperate attachment of my scanned signature page?

Can amyone help me with my form 80? I have filled it all in on the computer and I printed the signature page and scanned it back to the computer but how do I replace the signature page on form 80 with the scanned and signed signature page? I hope this makes sense Or could I just emailed the form 80 and a seperate document of my signature page? thanks

Hi, Im new to this thread we have our 186 application submitted, we have a case officer who has requested medicals, police checks, form 80 and a couple of work related documents. We have had our medicals but just waiting on the kids passports to come back before they can have their medicals, UK police checks should be back soon, I have my Oz police checks but it says they need the original certificate? where do i send it or can i scan a certified copy? and we are finished the form 80s tonight and submitting them! Its great to hear some people are getting their visa quickly! we have been here over 5 years on temp visas, to think we could have pr soon in amazing!
