Hi everybody, Can somebody please help, I am in Sydney on a 457 visa and I cant understand conflicting (to me) information on the authority website. Can I exchange a UK licence for an australian one, the website appears to say yes if a PR but only a P licence if temporary but I am sure that cant be right can it?

Yes that's in Australian dollars and I felt ok about living expenses just that gap between coming over and the first pay, thanks for your quick reply mate.

Hi I have just got a job with Railcorp on 175k AUS and will (me, wife and 13yr old boy) l be moving to Sydney in six weeks. I could do with some help on the money front please, we will be put up in serviced apartments for about six weeks while we find somewhere. We will bring over about 15k AUS and need about 6 of that for a deposit and first month rent after six weeks. . Does 9k seem reasonable for living costs etc while i start work and wait for the first salary to arrive from Railcorp? I don't know yet how long exactly I will have to wait before the first payday I am guessing somewhere between four and eight weeks We also have a worry about serviced apartment for 6 weeks and yet it takes 12 for our container to arrive so we will need beds and basics which seems kind of silly with it all on the way... Any advise or knowledge of these areas is greatly welcome, thanks

Hi we re moving to Sydney in six weeks with a 13year old boy, I have a role with Railcorp andmy wife looks to have ppicked up a part time job in Coogee, which is a place we think k looks great to live. My son is 13 and would normally start GCSE work in September, he is in the top two sets for exams etc so doing ok academically. Will he start exam work straight away, or in January? And does anybody please have any recommendations for schools? Thanks
