  1. Just soooooo excited as finally booked our flights last night and on my way in October after not seeing my other half for a year it will be amazing to see him and stay, whoop whoop! Anyone in the Mascot area of Sydney with kids as my 6 & 16 will not know anybody and I'm sure it would be nice for them to have playmates before starting school? (and me of course) :ssign19:
  2. Hey all, I've never posted on here before but have found it all to be very helpful to read all your experiences and now I'm very excited as finally joining my hubby in Sydney from the end of October. I will need a job very sharpish though and have been canvassing my CV via email for months with no feedback only automated replies. My skills are in customer service and construction site supervision so any advice would be highly appreciated however I was mainly posting regarding the Roseberry/Mascot area and to see if there was anyone on here with kids for play dates when we get there as I am worried they will find it hard initially to make friends. Stay Happy people  M
  3. Thanks, I will keep looking but probably wait till after Christmas now, my partner is going out there tomorrow so fingers crossed for the future.:ssign19: Hope you find what you need CaptainR.
  4. Hi to all, My partner is moving to Sydney and I will be joining him in a year with the kids but due to the area I will need a job to walk into if possible. I currently work for a construction company carrying out refurbishment works to kitchens and bathrooms (also windows and various) concentrating on the customer care, supervising the workforce, programming and liaising with the client and subcontractors. I would like to do a job that uses my skills but I'm not sure if they have an equivalent position. Any help/advise would be gratefully received as I just can't wait to get there and get settled.:cute:
  5. My partner is due to move to Sydney on a 4year working visa and I will be following in a year with the kids but does anyone know of any jobs similar to a RLO (resident liaison officer) or refurbishment for kitchens and bathrooms supervisor type role. I am currently working in the social housing sector for a construction company and enjoy my job as it involves so much variety but I would appreciate any advise on a role that would best suit my skills with room to expand my knowledge further. I can't wait to get out there but due to the area will need a job pretty much straight away. Any feedback is appreciated :cute: Em
  6. Anyone, I am looking to emigrate to Australia either sponsored or perminently (if possible) once I have the funds but does anyone know what savings you have to have in the bank to show you can support yourself initially and do you still have the same amount even if you are sponsored?? Also how much is the total cost people have paid for the whole visa process as have conflicting costs constantly? Any feedback is appreciated Mason33
  7. Tony, Hi I am sure you would be able to help me, my partner is a 31 year old VW mechanic in London. He would like to carry on his carrer in Australia preferably in Queensland or Victora due to friends and family already being in these areas but we are open to suggestions. We have been to an exhibition expo and the migration expert was very positive. If you also have any contacts in the building industry I am a tenant liaison officer currently training as an assistant site manager for tenanted properties having refurbishment works carried out and would be interested to carry this on if possible. Any information would be appreciated. Regards Mason33
