Thankyou Ausborn. Ive put brissy down for work as a worst case,but hearing there is work south of the sunshine coast has sparked me with confidance great news. I dont mind travelling 90mins to and from work but if there is nearer work GREAT. Im really happy about this post. I have heard that west caloundra are building pretty much a new city too. what is your best advise for a new pommy looking for work??

we are moving to Caloundra south sunny. it was a toss uo between there or Burleigh heads. they both seem the same kind of distance to brissy. Also im a c.arpenter

Hi all you pommys Me and my family are moving in Aug 2014 and have now chose where were going to live. But what are your thoughs? would you live in the gold coast or sunshine coast.. pros and cons please. Ill be working in Brisbane so either is over an hr drive and i know this. Let the debate start.

This happens in the uk all the time. every fri and sat night on the streets. ive seen it was to many times. not only king hits but glassing bottles knifes. SAD SAD WORLD WE LIVE IN.

Its nothing to worry about dan. I passed with flying colours (pomqueen) I took mine on a sat and there was 7 of us. the examiner was chilled out and just wanted to get the work done and go home lol so we had an induction. then had to on a big table put up a stud wall 900length x 1200 wide with a door hole. then had to build 3 gable rafters with a hipped roof. That was it. very easy and simple if ur a carpenter. Its all to spec within 5mm And they DO check your work. then afterwards he goes through a big booklet which he fills out asking random questions about setting out,cutting lists,job management. very easy stuff.DONT WORRY. I worryed my ass of then got there and thought jeeeez this is basic lol

we are planning on goldy or near briss. looked into caloundra but like flathead said, not alot going on work wise. i commute 2hrs to my work now so an hr i really dont mind. we are just waitin for our meds a police checks then will have visa in hand......... in time.

Hi all me wife and 2 young children are moving over next year. Im main visa holder carpenter have AQF level 3 carpentry qually got 17 years under my belt happy to be a dog for a few months then hope to be well in the carpentry scene on $30-40 an hr. We are looking to go to Qld sunny/briss/goldy even north Nsw,but on PIO i hear so much about work problems and hassle so i turn to PIO on facebook and everybody is saying,plenty of work blah blah work galore....... WHAT IS THE TRUTH

Hi all. im moving over to qld as a carpenter i have my AQF level3 in carpentry and id be more than 30-35 bucks an hr for chippy work. Is this poss? im guessin ill only need a white card along side my aussie qually??

Its a form of self defence which the israel army use. its world know and covers every form of self defence from being attacked with bottles guns knife car jacking kidnapp muggings. pretty handing and keeps your wits about you. Its not violent its about handleing situations

Thank you for the insight,its good to hear it from the horses mouth so to speak. we are planning to move in atleast 12months time. I have read about the not what you know but who and i think it is the same here in the uk. Ive no problem starting at the bottom and being a dogs body just so i can have the "local experiance" my day to day work at the moment is all in all 3-4 hr commute a day and i not only do carpentry as a trade,i find myself plastering ,roofing,windowfitting,concreting. the list goes on,and im happy with this so worst case it that i come to aus and do the same as what im doing now. which isnt a problem just as long as i have work. Any more help or advise would be great as all will be taken onboard.
