  1. Sorry clock, don't know about that! Kellyv I spoke to a registered migration agent today with these queries about the nursing diploma and post grad degree she said if you have registration with the NMC in the UK this is considered to be equivalent to holding a degree for the purpose of points on the points test, so in this case a full 15 points is awarded! She also confirmed that mat leave cannot be counted towards work experience, so that clears that one up! Kellyv are you claiming 15 points for your diploma?
  2. I missed this! Been looking out for your arrival report!! Do keep in touch, it looks beautiful! Definitely incentive to keep going!! X
  3. Hi Bradford bull, we are similar, I'm a nurse and husband is a theatre producer! We are also focusing on my career when it comes to areas to settle, we are looking at WA as there is a new hospital being built in Perth. Bunbury looks lovely! My hubby quite likes the idea of me earning the crust and him looking after kids 1 and 3! I can just imagine the carnage! Hope someone can answer your queries, I'll be interested to see what peoples experiences of nursing in bunbury are! Good luck!
  4. Thank you! Oooh good luck for Friday, fingers crossed! I'm stressed already and not even scratch the surface of what needs to be done for the visa! I'll be a wreck!!
  5. Thanks kellyv, I'm applying for the 189 too (if I've got enough points that is!). I've done the academic IELTS got 7s and above, misse dour on 8's by 0.5 on the reading but hey ho. If I can still claim for my experience I'll be able to claim 60 without my degree. It's so nerve racking trying to do everything right! I'm in the process of gathering paperwork together to sent off for ANMAC skills assessment, that's a minefield in itself! Starting to wonder if going it alone without an agent is a wise move : / Really appreciate the help, thank you x
  6. Nooooo! Kellyv thanks for the heads up, how did you find out about that? I had a year off for each of my 2 children but was still employed during those periods, do I have to knock those 2 years off my years of experience too?
  7. Hi nic1171, thanks for that reply, after looking closely at my years of employment, I actually went part time after maternity leave in 2011 which means I was employed full time for 7 years, then the next 3 years at 23 hours, so if that's halved to make it up to full time that would be 1.5 years which still gives me 8 years? Doesn't it? My head is spinning! Good news about the degree though, my anzsco code is for paediatric nurse so a degree in child health I certainly related! Thanks again nic1171 I notice you have come to my rescue a lot during my panic and confusion! It's much appreciated! X
  8. Hi, hope someone can clear this up once and for all for me! So, my confusion lies in the skilled occupation employment. So I've been qualified and employed for 10 years as a registered paeds nurse, so was going to claim 15 points as I've been employed in this occupation for the required "at least 8 years and up to 10 years". Was full time til 2010 then dropped to 23 hours per week as I had my children. Does this in any way effect the amount of points I can claim for this section? Also I am a diploma qualified nurse but has since gained my degree in child health recently through work. Can I claim 15 points for this degree or just 10 as the degree wasn't my original nursing qualification? Sooooo confused by this and don't want to over claim! Was going to under claim for the qualifications as I would still have 60 points but need to clarify the years of employment as if I have to drop to 10 points I may need to get state sponsorship with only 55 points! Heeeeeelp! Thanks in advance for any kind advice!
  9. Thank you, I'll contact HR tomorrow and see if I can get proof of service from them, hope that doesn't take too long, great advice though thanks, great tip about national insurance and p60's! Where would I be without this forum and you kind folk! Tearing my hair out probably!! thanks again! X
  10. Thanks for those replies, I think what she's done is brief but to the point but I think I might add to it some extra details, can't hurt can it, she's happy for me to add stuff and she'll sign it. I did think about adding pay slips and job description but the example reference states anmac do not accept these! She has stated the dates of my employment, will that be proof for extra points? If not what documentation is required when it comes to visa time and I need to prove length of employment!? Didn't think it would take this long to get all this stuff together so want to get it right first time if possible. Really appreciate your help! Bouncy x
  11. Hello again all, after much delay my ward manager has finally done my professional reference. She was a bit unsure on how to incorporate the anzco code so has just dropped it in in brackets, i.e. "john smith is a senior paediatric nurse (anzco code #####) on a 20 bedded unit" is this ok? After the long wait for this I don't want to send it off only to find out it's not enough. Also, it's a page long, is that enough or should it be more! She followed the example reference from the ANMAC site so I'm hoping it will be ok! Thanks in advance for any advice! Bouncy x
  12. Hi there, thanks for posting this, I am about to get my stuff certified and had wondered about this, good to know that was acceptable for you! Good luck!
  13. Thank you _shel I've not had skills assessed yet so will be sending all documents to ANMAC, with the degreeive got 65 without 60 so thought the extra 5 wouldnt hurt. So is it the skills assessment body (ANMAC in my case) who determine if your qualifications are relevant? Would they let me know if the degree didn't count? To be fair, I did it as part of my job so it should count!!
  14. Hi again, I'm trying to e-mail oz immigration to clarify if my degree in child health is appropriate for the extra points? I'm a nurse and my nursing qualification is a diploma so if this degree counts towards more points that would be good. Anyone know of an e-mail address? I've scoured the immigration website and can only find a telephone number, is this the only way to contact someone with a query? Thanks for any help!! Bouncy
  15. I had to get a copy of my grad certificate from uni as I couldn't find the original, I'll get nmc to send a statement of entry tomorrow, hopefully that should be all! Doing a stat declaration sounds like a pain, more expense!! Bit more to do but nearly there! Thanks guys for your replies, you're helping me out massively, I really appreciate it!
  16. Hi guys, more questions I'm afraid!! Just checking I've included everything I need! Verification and transcript sent by nmc already Birth cert marriage cert nursing qualification cert Passport photo with signature from witness professional ref All copies and signed by notary public. On the checklist it mentions initial registration certificate from regulatory authority, do I just request a copy of statement of entry from nmc? Have I missed anything? How many copies should I get signed of each document? I know I'll need more for the main visa application and ahpra. Thank you once again for any responses, Bouncy.
  17. Thanks guys, think ill just get it copied and certified just to be safe! Oz2014, I'm still actually waiting for my reference, just planning ahead! God knows how long it will take! I'll be prepared when it gets done anyway!! Thanks again for the help guys, I've a feeling this won't be the last question about these documents!!! Thanks for baring with me! X
  18. Thanks smitty, yes I totally agree. Does the reference have to be copies and certified or will the original be ok? Want to get this stuff sent off this week but I'm panicking I'm going to make a mistake!! Arghhhh, the stress!!! ; )
  19. Thanks nic1171, thought it wouldn't make a difference but you never know in this game!! Thanks again for the reply!
  20. Hi there, hope someone can help, does the professional reference required by anmac need to be hand written or can it be done on computer or does it not matter? Thanks for any replies!! Bouncy.
  21. Hi guys, just wondering about getting documents copied and certified, do I copy the documents first myself and take them to be certified or take the originals to the justice of peace etc to copy them then certify? I swear the most simple things in this process (if there are any) I can find a way to make it confusing! Thank you (again!) in advance. Bouncy.
  22. Just to update, I called nmc who said they don't have my transcript but are sending out the standard syllabus today, will that be enough? I hope so as it seems I won't get anything better! Not sure how long it would have taken if I hadn't called!! Also, they are sending it to me, can I send it to anmac or does it have to come from nmc directly??
  23. Hi toodolou, I first sent mine the end of sept then again on the 10th October cos I was worried id not heard anything! Even if it took 30 days I should have received something from the first e mail surely! Maybe it's 30 working days! I'll call them tomorrow, update this once I've spoken to them. Hopefully I'm stressing over nothing (as usual!).
  24. Very confusing! But none of this has been straight forward so far!! Think I'll just drop them a line tomorrow to clarify! Hopefully they'll be helpful!! : )
