  1. Yes I wasn’t going to be here on the 26th June, so went on the link to change the date and there was an appointments for the 9th May or else later than 26th June. So thought I’d go for it! I have my test tomorrow! Lots of study tonight :-)
  2. Just got an email with test interview date today even though we only applied in January 2019, super shocked with such a short turnaround. We are in Adelaide area Applied: 05 Jan 2019 Test Email- 07/05/2019- proposed test date was 26th June 2019 but I have managed to change this online to 09/05/2019 Approved: TBC Ceremony Email / Date : TBC Council: Charles Sturt (SA)
  3. Hi I'm also originally from NI - and hold an Irish passport! We only needed to apply to acro for our police check as we had lived in NI for the previous 10 years! You will only need the Irish police check if you have lived down south within the last 10 years I completed my tempory visa application 2 years ago and am now applying for my PR So have sent off for a new police check and the process seems to be the same-
  4. We used jet pets to deliver our dog from melbourne to adelaide, they sent us a consent form to sign that allowed them to pick up the dog from Melbourne. I also emailed quarentine to confirm they would be collecting the dog but I think the consent form alone is sufficient.
  5. My partners a solid plasterer, not sure if your fibrous or solid? We've been in Adelaide since January and he's had constant work since we arrived. His work is pretty much all rendering and texture coating and all outside work, the wage is good though probably less than other states due to lower cost of living. Cant comment on Perth but there seems to be quite a few jobs on gumtree.

We will have lived here just under 6 months by the time the new tax year comes From what I read you are a resident for tax purposes if: [TABLE=width: 1000] [TR] [TD]· have always lived in Australia or you have come to Australia to live permanently · you have been in Australia continuously for six months or more, and for most of that time you worked in the one job and lived at the same place · have been in Australia for more than six months of the income year (unless your usual home is overseas and you do not intend to live in Australia - for example, you are a working holiday maker) · you go overseas temporarily and you do not set up a permanent home in another country, or · are an overseas student enrolled in a course of study for more than six months duration. [/TD] [/TR] [/TABLE] We have moved to Adelaide to live permanently ( we are on a provisional 489 visa) and have no plans to go back, do we class ourselves as residents for tax purposes or as we wont have reached the 6 months by July will we be non residents this tax year?   8. Hi Lisa We had the same problem, my partner had lost his certificates & the college had closed down. He thought he had City & guilds certificates so we contacted them directly and paid for new ones, however they came back they did not have copies nor any record of my partner. We thought we were beat before we even started so I got him to go onto facebook to search for people who he went to college with (18 years ago) he happened to find someone who advised him that they were city & guilds with CSKILLS. I contacted the awarding body CSkills and they had them and were absolutley brilliant to deal with, sent us confirmation they knew the college had shut down & also a full copy of the syllabus (100's of pages long) so definatley try the awarding body, if you can find out who it was :wink: good luck
  9. Hi Maryrose Thanks for the reply, we got sorted and our dog will be flying from Dublin with a company EFL who have been very good so far but we are still in the process of vet work and she wont be flying over untill March so cant comment fully on them yet. Thanks
  10. Thanks Shelly no kids yet so don't have those worries yet!!But good thinking about cancelling g all the contracts I'm going to have to invest in a diary for all the important dates!! I guess I have 4 months of thinking I've forgotten something to look forward to then! im sure we'll all be grand as long as we don't forget our passports lol good luck with the move.   11. Haha wow them minutes will fly in for you!! I hadn't even thought of. No claims bonuses etc ! References was something I had thought of and forgot again lol, need to make myself a list ! I think of things randomly during the day then forget them lol!! Good idea about the eyes and teeth, suppose I'll get a haircut too lol :-) thanks for for the advice hope your planning s going we'll!!

Hi All We are moving to adelaide mid Jan, so far we have organised Container arranged for 25th Sept Flights booked for Jan Temporary accommodation booked for first 2 weeks Bank sorted: collect cards on arrival Moneycorp account set up: still to transfer funds Dog booked to arrive in March We have still to arrange a hire car for first week or so & we know we will have to wait till arrival to organise medicare, tax numbers, longterm rental, cars etc, but is there anything else we should be doing now? Just feel there must be something ive missed?? Thanks

  14. Hi Bob I was just wondering do you only operate from the UK? We are based in NI and hoping to take our dog the 2nd week of March once her bloods clear, unfortunately we have to go before her so my mum will be taking care of the last minute things and London will be a bit difficult to get to. She can however drive to Dublin, is this something that you can cover? Thanks
  15. Hi I was just wondering if anyone has taken there pets with them from NI? If so what company did you use. We are hoping to take our jack russel but its quite expensive to take her to heathrow. We are able to take her to Dublin but not sure of companies that operate from here, how has anyone else went about this? We are going for her rabies injection today so want to get the ball rolling :animal-dog: Thanks in advance

  18. Hi We applied for sa state sponsership, we submitted the visa on the 23rd Jan, so have had quite a wait but had a couple of holdbacks on the visa, so hopefully yours wont take so long! Good luck

  20. Thanks verystormy No I didn't realise this but the form won't allow me to skip the passport details part. Yes that's what we were thinking we would need to get an a passport on the day, we were hoping it wouldn't be the case as we are some distance from our nearest passport office and thought somebody might have had this happen to them. O well looks like a little road trip for us today
  21. Hi We have just found out that we need a passport for my partners son, he is a non migrating dependant so didn't think we needed one. His passport ran out in July last year. We tried to fill out the application form and it would not accept a date earlier than today's date for expiry. Can we put today's date in and amend this later and send off for this ASAP, or would we need to use the premium service to get this passport before we lodge the application? We have to submit by the end of the week? Thanks

  23. Hi Nic Yes I was thinking that myself, it’s either right or wrong no in betweens I’m just clutching at straws I think. Well even at home his reading is definitely his weak point, but there have been times were he has scored 40 out of 40, but other times he could get 30/40. Though he did feel quite confident in this one, very frustrating to miss it by just half a mark :-(

Hi All My partner just got his dreaded IELTS results again this morning, 4th attempt W8 S8 L7.5 R6.5 I know the reading is very black & white and the answers wrong or right but just wondering has anyone ever had there reading mark changed in an appeal or do you think its a waste of money. I'm hoping maybe they have miscounted or missed something. We have another one booked for 7th December but my partners starting to get really frustrated, he seems to be able to pass everything except the reading :arghh:

Hi He only needs 7's seems to have mastered everything but his reaing but his patience is wearing and as you say we're wasting time and money and don't want to risk his job going off the sol altogether. Have just joined pomsinadelaide now we are thinking of going down this route, think i may have seen your post there?? Sorry one more question, do you know does he have to work in the job he has been sponsored in, (only if he can't find anything)
