the australian police checks done by DIAC is done through online Crimtrac which can show results in few minutes. it's not unusual for some applicants to have their citizenship approved the same day as their citizenship test.

but don't despair. Australian citizenship processing time is one of the fastest in the world. in Canada, it takes 21 to 40 months for citizenship to be processed. :chatterbox:

it's much faster if you try it on the phone. also when you call, tell the operator it's already past the client service standard of 10 working days.

Are you sure you're not applying for Canadian citizenship? :twitcy: Unfortunately Brisbane office is known to be busy. They are either understaffed and/or inefficient. :err: I applied in Sydney, got a test appointment in 5 days of online lodgement, and application approved in 1 month. :cool:

Did you apply online or by paper? They usually send test appointments via email if you chose this option of communicating. I would suggest calling 131 880.
