  1. Wishful thinking on Perth's part to be ninth in world listings let alone fourth. Although the powers that be do price it as such. Let's hope Perth returns to a sense of reality, including ignoring dumb rankings.

Next they'll be suggesting Melbourne as number one city in the world and the punters will believe it.

Not quite the world. re-read the article.

    This is just about Australia.

And only 5400 were sample surveyed ... wonder who?

  2. However, there are plenty of pompous idiots in the UK that see themselves as somehow superior to the rest of the world. As long as you're not trying to create a corner of a foreign field that is forever England you will have no issues. Just keep quiet about the cricket for the next four years.

Some of them are quite brainwashed, deluded and in need of serious help; the type that love to spoil it for the rest of us.

  3. I never mentioned anywhere that mental health issues are NOT real life and non delibitating. Please RE-READ my post

.."Ensuring my CDs and Vinyl have no fingerprints on them are not life threatening.. There are those worse off that have real life delibitating physical health issues"

My issue with labels is that they have negative connotations - especially for most kids. If labelling can help thats fine, got no issue.

But consider what happens when kids learn that they have a label placed on them.

  4. There are so many negative connotations with labels that make it a self fulfiling prophecy.. The word Diagnosis is a start...followed by Learning Difficulty...Challenged... Syndrome.. Disorder...

Change the perspective and have a better outcome, no one is denying that yes there are going to be idiosyncratic issues that children have whilst growing up .. I would have been diagnosed as ADHD in a heartbeat and then they would have pumped me with Ritalin where would I have ended up

Guess what ? I adapted, changed, and worked it out the hard old fashioned way as a kid .. (because my parents were absent) ... that whats bugging you in the mind can affect what goes on in your body .. Its what called psychosomatic .... I still have varying degrees of symptoms which in todays terms one would call OCD (hate that word), but I manage it by not worrying about it that much. Ensuring my CDs and Vinyl have no fingerprints on them are not life threatening.. There are those worse off that have real life delibitating physical health issues

  5. The 98s are a good year, should be fine to keep until 2025 ish (hopefully there will still be some edible fish in the ocean then!)

I was fortunately to get some 1994 and 1996 Bin 389 and 407. Still cellaring... Hope Ive planted some ideas for you ..

  6. Grange is good, what year do you have? Ive got an aunt in Sussex, she comes down to oz a bit.. at least once a year. Make you a deal, I get her to slowly bring some bottles for you (you get a 2l duty free allowance) and before long you have your collection... just make sure you share one with me and tonyman one day

...oh and btw you ll have to come over to perth to collect..

  7. Theres a lot of bashing yes ..theres Aussie bashing, French bashing, Greek bashing, Yank bashing, Boat people bashing.. and just bashing the peeps who post negative stuff about bashing...

At least it gets off the chest of some..

Theres nothing to be enlightened about

  8. Those who are speculating on tax brackets please look here

    http://www.paycalculator.com.au/info.html

If you earn 180k this puts you in top 2 percentile of income earners you ll be taking back 125k net approx

The average wage is 55k and they take back approx 46k

From a financial point of view you can afford almost 3x the average Australian worker

Money cant be a big issue for you unless you have negative geared or invested in other funds, or you have a 2 mil mortgage..

So if other factors are making you think twice then fair enough

But spare a thought for those who earn an average wage or below and have the same dilemma

  9. I was bitten in bed by a black spider:( I woke up one night with an intense headache and a stiff neck. Next morning, dead spider next to my pillow and fang marks on my neck. It was achey and sore for a day or two, a bit itchy, then the nearest lymph node on my neck came up for at least 2 weeks! Absorbing all the poison. Eek. Nothing further since.

If you didnt find the spider could you have thought you were going to be a bride of dracula?

  10. After 20 years of eluding spider bites I myself got my first this year! And then 2 more after that - 2 from Redbacks and 1 from White Tail I think. Bring em on!! Apparently the fitter you are the more immune you are to the venom, I must be pretty fit because upon consultation with the doctor, no anti venom was neccesary.
