sorry to hear that, i would imagine the best way is to nominate you under 187. nomination is pretty straightforward but may take some time.

there is skillselect available even when you don't have a sponsor, but this may take longer than you want.

The 457 is the easiest (thought not the best), i.e. getting a job while offshore and lodging an application. With a sponsor who's willing to wait longer it is also feasible to apply for a 186.

Hi everyone, New to this website and was wondering if anyone who knows can help. I understand that the nominating sponsor must be in a regional area, but let's say you have been approved and have worked for so many months/years for your nominating sponsor and want to move to the city, is that allowed in a 187 visa? I am on a 457 visa at the mo but thinking of getting the permanent resident status as this obviously has more benefits. Thanks in advance and looking forward to any insight.
